If you appreciate the concept of a home filled with vibrant greenery but find it challenging to maintain, the new OKO plant care assistant may be ideal for you.
OKO leverages technology typically used by farmers for large-scale crop management and brings it into your household.
This entails a range of smart sensors that monitor your plant closely and communicate its needs to you via your smartphone.
The aim is to allow you to enjoy a green home without the stress or uncertainties often associated with plant care.
As of the time of this publication, OKO is currently on Kickstarter, where it has surpassed its fundraising goal with 27 days remaining.
How does OKO function?
The OKO unit attaches to your plant’s soil, tracking water levels, temperature, humidity, and pH.
The OKO app connects to the smart sensor and sends you notifications, similar to receiving a message, when your plant requires attention.
OKO utilizes WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity and is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery that can last for up to three months after a one-hour charge via USB-C.
Additionally, the app includes a care calendar allowing you to review when you last watered, fertilized, or captured a photo to log into your timeline.
This technology comes from an MBE-awarded agritech engineer who specializes in assisting farmers on a large scale, so you can expect it to be thoughtfully designed and effective.
What is the cost of OKO?
At the time of publication, you can support this project on Kickstarter to access early backer deals.
You can purchase a single unit or a bundle for multiple plants. Prices begin at $78 for a full sensor for super early supporters, increasing to $85 for general Kickstarter backers. Alternatively, you can opt for a twin pack starting at $130 or a full five-pack for $300.

**Segway Navimow X3 robotic mowers charge more quickly, mow faster, and better detect animals**
Segway may be widely recognized for its two-wheeled transporters that make commuting faster than walking, but the company also produces robotic lawn mowers. The H Series debuted in 2022, followed by the I Series in 2024, and in 2025, the Navimow range has expanded to include the X3 Series, intended for larger yards and commercial spaces.
The X3 Series features four models—X315, X330, X350, and X390—which can manage lawn sizes of up to 10,000 square meters. To give you an idea, that's roughly equivalent to one-and-a-half football fields. These mowers come with rapid charging capabilities, allowing them to mow 500 square meters after just 30 minutes of charging, and they can cover 5,000 square meters within a 24-hour period.

**The Yale Assure Lock 2 has only improved with time**
The Yale Assure Lock 2 has consistently been featured in our list of top smart locks. With its sophisticated design, robust companion app, and numerous customization options, it stands out as a premium choice that is easy to recommend for most consumers. While some smart locks can start to show signs of aging, the Yale Assure Lock 2 has only become more appealing over the years.
This can be attributed to its remarkable durability—the lock on my front door has endured several Colorado storms yet remains in immaculate condition—along with Yale's continued efforts to expand the variety of models in the Assure Lock 2 series. I recently had the opportunity to test a newer version of the Assure Lock 2 that is compatible with Apple Home Keys, reinforcing my belief that it is one of the best smart locks available.
