NYT Strands for today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Tuesday, April 15.
Strands is a new daily puzzle offered by the New York Times. It presents a more challenging version of the traditional word search, requiring a sharp eye to complete. Similar to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, some days can be pretty tough. It's perfectly fine to seek assistance when needed. If you're facing difficulties with today’s Strands puzzle, you can find the solved puzzle below.
How to play Strands
Each Strands puzzle begins with the objective of identifying the "theme words" concealed within the grid of letters. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the last letter to confirm. When you discover the correct word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and will become unselectable.
If you come across a word that doesn’t belong to the theme, it’s still useful! For every three non-theme words you identify that contain at least four letters, you'll receive a hint—one letter from a theme word will be disclosed, and you’ll need to unscramble it.
Every letter on the grid contributes to spelling the theme words, and there’s no overlap; each letter is utilized exactly once.
Each puzzle also includes one “spangram,” a particular theme word (or words) that relates directly to the puzzle’s theme and spans two opposite sides of the board. When you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The aim is to finish the puzzle quickly while minimizing the use of hints.
