NYT Strands today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Saturday, April 12.

Strands is a brand-new daily puzzle from the New York Times. It offers a more challenging twist on the classic word search, requiring a sharp eye to complete it. Similar to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can present difficulties on certain days. If you find yourself stuck and need the answers for today's Strands puzzle, you can find the solved puzzle below.

      How to play Strands

In every Strands puzzle, your objective is to identify the “theme words” concealed within the letter grid. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping them to form words; double-tap the last letter to confirm your selection. When you successfully identify a word, its letters will be highlighted in blue and become non-selectable.

If you encounter a word that isn't a theme word, it can still be beneficial! For every three non-theme words you discover, each having a minimum of four letters, you'll receive a hint — the letters of one of the theme words will be revealed, and you’ll need to unscramble it.

Every letter in the grid contributes to the theme words without any overlap. Each letter will be utilized just once.

Each puzzle includes one “spangram,” a unique theme word (or words) that represents the puzzle's theme and connects two opposite sides of the board. Upon finding the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.

The aim is to finish the puzzle quickly while minimizing the use of hints.

Netflix Games’ latest addition is a nightmare straight out of Black Mirror

The newest game to be added to Netflix Games is Thronglets, a Tamagotchi-like experience that embeds a story within a story. This real-yet-fictional game stems from the Black Mirror universe and involves players managing and nurturing a digital pet-like creature called a Thronglet. You must hatch, evolve, and cultivate these little creatures, but beware: they can do more than just take over your phone.

In the Black Mirror universe, Thronglets was a title that was canceled in 1994 and hadn’t been played since, until someone found a way to access it. Successfully raising enough Thronglets leads to the formation of a harmonic Throng, and by creating multiple Throngs, players unlock video clips that tell the story of the game's creator, Colin Ritman, through interviews conducted by Mohan Thakur.

I need these 10 GameCube games on Nintendo Switch 2 as soon as possible

Nintendo Switch 2 will feature many exciting upcoming features, but what am I looking forward to the most? Nintendo GameCube games will be available on Switch Online. I know nostalgia plays a role in this, but I can’t help it. The GameCube was my first true childhood console, and I have many fond memories associated with it. I’m eager to dive back into games like F-Zero GX and Soulcalibur 2, two defining titles from my childhood, at the earliest opportunity.

My affection for the GameCube isn't solely based on nostalgia. I still believe that the GameCube boasts perhaps the finest exclusive video game lineup of any console. While its catalogue may not be vast, it included some of Nintendo's most adventurous choices along with unique third-party exclusives that have seldom been ported elsewhere. With the Switch Online upgrade, there’s a great chance for Nintendo to revive some of those classic games, as seen with titles like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Here are eight games I hope to see added in the service's first year (assuming that recently remastered games like Metroid Prime are excluded).
