Puzzmo is an innovative platform that transforms the concept of a newspaper puzzle page into a responsive web page compatible with various devices. Players can sign up for the free platform today, which also offers a $40 annual subscription option that unlocks additional features such as experimental games and leaderboards.

      This ambitious initiative is a partnership between Orta Therox and Zach Gage, a game designer who has gained recognition over the years with mobile games like Knotwords and Good Sudoku. His latest venture has been in development for years and aims to serve as a comprehensive hub for Gage’s puzzle catalog, competing with popular platforms like The New York Times.

      The New York Times has rolled out a new puzzle game following the success of Wordle, and it’s focused on math. Digits challenges players to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. You can currently enjoy its beta version for free online.

      In Digits, players are given a target number to match, with six available numbers to manipulate. They can combine these numbers using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division to approach the target. Not all numbers must be used, so this game tests your math skills as you create equations to match the target number as closely as possible.

      Achieving an exact match with the target number earns players a five-star rating, while coming within 10 grants a three-star rating, and getting within 25 yields a one-star rating. At present, players can also access five different puzzles with progressively larger numbers. I tackled today’s puzzle and found it to be an enjoyable number-based challenge that should appeal to those who enjoy puzzle games like Threes or other titles from The New York Times, such as Wordle and Spelling Bee.

      In an article introducing Digits and explaining The New York Times Games team’s game development process, The Times mentions that the free beta is intended for bug fixing and evaluating whether to move forward into a more active development phase, where the programming and design would be finalized. So, enjoy Digits while you can, as The New York Times might discontinue it if the feedback isn’t as positive as they hope.
