Have vinyl, will travel: Toshiba's latest Bluetooth record player allows you to do exactly that.
With Record Store Day approaching, you may be considering a new turntable to enjoy your latest vinyl collection. If you’re someone who likes to take music on the go, you might be curious about the availability of a portable record player to showcase your collection anywhere. Fortunately for road-trippers, Toshiba has just unveiled the Aurex AX-RP10, a compact Bluetooth turntable designed for portability.
While you won’t fit this turntable into your jeans pocket like an old Walkman—measuring 11 x 6 x 3 inches and weighing 2.6 pounds—Toshiba has included a shoulder bag that allows you to carry the rich sound of analog music to the park, a picnic, or your next rooftop gathering.
Similar to Audio-Technica’s popular Sound Burger, the Aurex AX-RP10 features a belt-driven design with a MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge that can play both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records. It comes equipped with a 2,000mAh battery that can keep it running for up to 10 hours. However, it lacks built-in speakers, requiring you to use headphones or connect to an external sound system through the 3.5mm input. Alternatively, you can pair it with Bluetooth speakers or headphones. Audiophiles should note that the SBC codec support doesn’t allow for hi-res playback, which means this turntable is more geared towards fun and convenience.
To keep the music going for longer, you’ll need to bring along a few records in a tote or throw a crate in the trunk, but whatever you’re playing will be prominently displayed thanks to the AX-RP10’s standout feature—a “jacket holder” that showcases the record’s sleeve.
Toshiba has yet to reveal the price (the Sound Burger retails for $200), but the AX-RP10 is anticipated to be available sometime this month. Be sure to support your local indie record stores this Record Store Day.

Samsung’s The Frame Pro eliminates visible cables to transform your TV into a piece of art. While some prefer to exhibit the latest and largest TVs in their homes, others seek a more subtle option that blends seamlessly with their interior. In recent years, TV manufacturers have focused on this latter audience, starting with Samsung's The Frame TVs which resemble art pieces when turned off. The original Frame was launched in 2017 and has seen annual updates, but now Samsung is introducing a revamped model called The Frame Pro, which looks stunning but comes with a hefty price tag.
