The recently unveiled Samsung One UI 7 has now started to be made available to owners of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, after being teased for some time.
It appears that this new UI is finally reaching devices, at least in North America.
Samsung had previously indicated that the update would start rolling out in April for Fold and Flip devices, but did not provide more precise details.
Now, users of Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in the US are reporting that the updates with the new UI are accessible.
It was anticipated that this rollout could be delayed, particularly as the Galaxy S25 received the full version of One UI 7 while Galaxy Fold 6 users were just beginning to test the beta version.
If you have already installed the beta on your device, you seem to be prioritized, as Samsung appears to be releasing the update to those devices first.
The update is quite substantial at 5GB, so be prepared for a more involved installation and update process. However, considering it also includes a security update for April 2025, the additional size and waiting time may be justified.
There’s also a caveat: at the time of this publication, this update seems to only be available for handsets on the Verizon network. For users on T-Mobile or AT&T, it appears the update will be delayed further.
What’s new in Samsung One UI 7?
Samsung has put considerable effort into introducing new features while maintaining the essence of the previous UI version. The outcome is an easily navigable system that includes some enjoyable new elements.
The overall design feels significantly more contemporary. One particularly useful enhancement, responding to user demand, is a vertically scrolling app drawer that boasts improved fluidity.
The revamped split notification pane functions effectively, providing more information in a space that feels user-friendly.
The camera UI has been streamlined, which is beneficial for quick snaps, yet still allows for deeper access if desired.
As expected, AI features are emphasized here with deeper integrations that enhance their practical use.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 size upgrade just got teased in the newest leak
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is likely on the horizon, and a recent leak may have revealed some crucial details. The latest flip phone from Samsung is expected to see an increase in size compared to the current Flip 6 model.
Some might have to wait a bit longer for Samsung’s One UI 7 update
Samsung plans to launch its eagerly awaited One UI 7 update globally starting the week of April 7. However, there has been some confusion regarding the exact timing and locations for the rollout. New developments have added to the uncertainty surrounding specific release dates. According to SamMobile, Samsung has quietly removed the One UI 7 launch date in the U.S. from its news site and altered the wording on its Australia Newsroom portal and possibly others. It now states that the official rollout “will start from April.” For now, specific dates remain available for news portals from South Korea, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Malaysia, Singapore, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
The Galaxy Z Flip FE could use an older chipset, but that’s good news
The Galaxy Z Flip FE (Fan Edition) might be set to launch later this year, possibly equipped with a chipset first seen in a device from last year. While using “older” chips in smartphones is often seen negatively, this could be advantageous. Android Authority's research suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will come with the Exynos 2400e, the same chip utilized in the Galaxy S24 FE. Earlier rumors had indicated that the new flip phone would feature an Exynos 2500, which Samsung has not released information about yet.
