JLab introduces two new stem-style ANC earbuds along with its first open-ear model.

Budget headphone manufacturer JLab has introduced three new sets of earbuds, priced between $37 and $119. The Go Pods ANC and JBuds Pods ANC are aimed at commuters and music enthusiasts, featuring stem-style closed-ear designs with commendable battery life and hybrid ANC. The Epic Open Sport, designed for active individuals, marks the company's first foray into open-ear earphones. These new models will be released over the next six weeks.

JLab’s two latest stem-style wireless earbuds are part of its new JLab Pods series, both equipped with hybrid noise cancellation that effectively reduces external sounds for a more serene listening experience. Additionally, users can manage how much outside noise they hear through three modes: ANC On, ANC Off, and Be Aware (which allows external sounds to pass through), as noted in a press release. The JLab app also allows customization of the hybrid ANC strength.

In terms of sound quality, both the Go Pods ANC and JBuds Pods ANC can be fine-tuned via the JLab App, which offers various audio presets (JLab Signature, Balance, or Bass Boost) along with a 10-band equalizer. The app also enables users to customize touch controls.

Examining each model, the $37 GO Pods ANC are the introductory option that JLab targets at commuters and travelers. The company claims these earbuds provide “the perfect balance of comfort, clarity, convenience, and value for your non-stop lifestyle.”

With 7.5 hours of playtime, they outperform the AirPods 4 ANC, and with the charging case, total playtime extends to 26 hours. However, the charging case does not support wireless charging, but it does come with a USB-C cable, and a quick 10-minute charge allows for an hour of playback.

Featuring an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, they are suitable for use during workouts and can endure a rinse in the sink. Available in black and lilac, the Go Pods ANC will go on sale on May 13, 2025, at JLab.com.

The JBuds Pods ANC, priced at $65, elevate the experience beyond the GO Pods, featuring JLab’s “Lab Quality Sound” and “Lab Spatial Audio” for enhanced audio fidelity and immersive sound, according to a press release.

These compact earbuds come with 11mm drivers and utilize six microphones for hybrid ANC. The additional $30 provides 10 hours of playtime on a single charge and up to 56 hours with the case, along with the same 10-minute fast charge feature. The JBuds Pods ANC also support wireless charging.

An IP55 rating is included, as well as Bluetooth multipoint connectivity to link with multiple devices at once. The JBuds Pods ANC will also be available on May 13 at JLab.com in black.

The final product in the lineup is the Epic Open Sport, JLab's first open-ear design offering a wrap-around style that ensures they stay in place during exercise or running, while allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings.

Referred to as the “first open-ear audio solution in JLab’s premium Epic product line,” these $115 earphones are crafted for those who desire exceptional sound quality while being able to hear their environment comfortably. They feature larger 14.2mm drivers, and while ANC is not present in open-ear headphones, JLab states that the custom-tuned high-fidelity drivers are strategically placed to provide superior audio performance.

Additionally, these drivers can produce frequencies up to 50kHz with minimal distortion, and the earphones are “hi-res audio certified,” allowing compatibility with Android devices that support LDAC. The Epic Open Sport also accommodates Apple’s AAC codec.

The sound presets and equalization functions available in the JLab Pods series can also be accessed through the app for these earphones. While the exact battery life of the earbuds was not provided at press time, it is noted that the charging case offers over 30 hours of playback in total.

At $115, JLab asserts that the Epic Open Sport is priced three times lower than competing open-ear headphones. These will be available in black only on April 22 at JLab.com.
