As summer approaches, Dreo is preparing for the season by introducing a range of new smart devices. Some of these products are currently available, while others will be released over the coming months, all designed to keep you cool and enhance your indoor air quality.
The Dreo Summer 2025 collection features fans, portable air conditioners, air purifiers, and humidifiers, with most products incorporating useful smart features that enhance their performance and offer convenient control options. The flagship product is the Dreo Portable Air Conditioner 319S, which boasts a 10,000 BTU system that is powerful, quiet, and does not require drainage, making it an excellent cooling solution for your home. It is compatible with both Google and Alexa, and supports voice controls for user-friendliness.
Other noteworthy products include the Dreo Tower Fan 518S, which has nine power settings and operates at a mere 25dB; the HEPA-powered Dreo Air Purifier 505S; and the Dreo Dehumidifier 711S, designed for large areas of up to 4,500 square feet.

Eve introduces its first smart light switch with dimmer capabilities
Eve has rolled out numerous smart home gadgets over the years, including a smart plug, energy strip, and indoor camera. The company is now set to release its first smart light switch featuring dimmer functionality in March, which supports Matter, voice commands, and remote access, making it an attractive option for discerning consumers.
The Eve Dimmer Switch will be one of the higher-priced options on the market, retailing for $50. However, it offers a variety of valuable features for your investment, including Matter-over-Thread support, a premium button/rocker dimmer design for improved control, and the ability to sync with Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa for voice command functionality. Also, it allows for light dimming, a feature often lacking in many other smart switches.
SwitchBot launches new air purifiers with HEPA filtration and smartphone charging capabilities
SwitchBot has officially introduced two new air purifiers — the SwitchBot Air Purifier and the SwitchBot Air Purifier Table. Both models come equipped with a HEPA filter to address various air particulates and allergens, though the Air Purifier Table offers additional features that enhance its versatility within your smart home.
Regardless of which air purifier you select, you will receive an efficient device capable of cleaning a 215-square-foot area in just over seven minutes, and for a larger 1,800-square-foot space, that time increases to an hour. With a clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 236 cubic feet per minute and an operational noise level of just 20dB, it should be a great fit for both standard bedrooms and larger living areas. In addition to a HEPA filter for eliminating bacteria, the SwitchBot Air Purifiers include a carbon filter to remove pet odors from the air, along with a pre-filtration layer to capture pet hair.
Google's Gemini AI now offers smart home device control
After a period in Public Preview, Google is expanding its Google Home extension for the Gemini app to all users. This feature will allow control of smart home devices through Gemini, enabling tasks such as turning on smart lights, checking your smart thermostat, or adjusting speaker volume.
The Google Home Extension will be rolled out over the next few weeks, and once the update is installed, any compatible devices linked to your Google account will be accessible via Gemini. If you try to use unsupported commands in the Gemini app, your smartphone will automatically open the Google Home app to complete the task (such as accessing camera
