3 PlayStation Plus games to enjoy this weekend (April 11-13)
PlayStation has been relatively quiet this month, with the Nintendo Switch 2 stealing the spotlight, albeit not entirely for positive reasons. Concerns are rising regarding the prices of games, especially with the high costs associated with some upcoming Switch 2 titles. It's likely that PlayStation and the broader industry will follow this trend. However, PlayStation Plus continues to deliver tremendous value for a single subscription fee. Even as we await new game releases for the service, there remains a day-one launch that we highly recommend. If you're looking to save some money this weekend by exploring PlayStation Plus before the upcoming PS5 games impact your finances, consider adding these titles to your download list.
**Blue Prince**
We anticipated that this game would debut on PS Plus upon announcement, but we were unaware it would contend for game of the year. Blue Prince is a roguelike puzzle game reminiscent of House of Leaves, where you explore a constantly shifting mansion in pursuit of a mysterious 46th room. Each day, you determine the layout of the rooms, but once night falls, everything resets, and you must start afresh. Like the finest puzzle games, improvement comes from following your curiosity and uncovering the mansion's secrets with your deductive reasoning, instead of relying on keys or other items.
Blue Prince is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
**Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus**
Next week, PlayStation fans will finally get to experience Indiana Jones and the Great Circle from MachineGames, making this an opportune moment to revisit the studio’s previous major title. Wolfenstein 2 focuses more on action than Indiana yet is equally captivating. The narrative continues from the remarkable reboot (which is also available if you prefer starting from the beginning) and adds depth to what seems like an absurd premise. Both games share a passion for taking down Nazis, making it a fitting time to play a title where you can feel entirely justified in brutally defeating your foes.
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
**Destiny 2: The Witch Queen**
For years, Destiny 2 has been one of the top free games on PS5, and it's worth noting that the Witch Queen expansion is still available to further enrich the story and loot opportunities. With Marathon recently showcasing gameplay, it's a great reminder of Bungie’s expertise in the FPS genre. While we await the potential arrival of the Halo franchise, Destiny 2 currently satisfies any FPS cravings, especially with a glimpse of what’s ahead from the studio.
Destiny 2 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
**3 new PlayStation Plus games to play this weekend (February 7-9)**
February may be the shortest month of the year, but PlayStation has filled it with new games added to the PlayStation Plus catalog. The first week typically focuses on the Essential tier, meaning these titles are accessible to any subscriber. With all the major upcoming PS5 games, such as Monster Hunter Wilds and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, not yet released, we have a selection of games this weekend that serve as excellent holdovers to ease the wait for your next significant gaming experience. We've got an exciting co-op game, a shorter title you could complete in a day or two, and an unexpected remake that you might end up loving. If you have no other plans, here are the three new PlayStation Plus games to explore this weekend.
**High on Life**
Official Game Trailer for HIGH ON LIFE
Games rarely set out to be intentionally funny. Given that humor is highly subjective and players control the pace of games, it’s challenging for jokes to hit their mark as intended. High on Life, from Squanch Games, is a rare example of a game that leverages the medium to craft humor effectively. It’s a fast-paced first-person shooter set in a sci-fi universe where you play as an alien bounty hunter wielding living weapons called Gatlians, all voiced by comedians like J.B. Smoove, Tim Robinson, Betsy Sodaro, Jack Black, and more. If you don’t enjoy the humor in Rick and Morty, this game might not be for you either, but if you do, it promises to be a lot of fun.
**3 PlayStation Plus games to play this weekend (January 31-February 2)**
As January wraps up, we have one last weekend of relative calm before the impressive PS5 titles arriving in February take over. However, we still need quality games to enjoy without straining our budgets. That’s where PlayStation Plus steps in. We find ourselves in an awkward stage between the previous set of Extra and Premium games and the new Essential games launching for February, but the service has an extensive library of titles that may have gone
