3 must-see Hulu films to watch this weekend (March 14-17)
Streaming services rarely get the opportunity to feature a Best Picture Oscar winner just weeks after its victory, but Hulu will do just that this Sunday, March 17, with the arrival of Anora. Unsurprisingly, it’s our top recommendation among the three excellent movies on Hulu that you should watch this weekend.
Our other selections include a legendary cult classic starring Brad Pitt and Ed Norton, while our final film of the week features an impressive ensemble cast in a story from one of the most respected directors of his time.

**Anora (2024)**
*Neon*
This year’s Oscar-winning film, Anora, also took home awards for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, both awarded to Sean Baker, along with Best Actress for Mikey Madison as Anora “Ani” Mikheeva. Anora is a stripper whose life hasn’t exactly gone as she envisioned. However, she believes her luck has changed when the affluent Ivan “Vanya” Zakharov (Mark Eydelshteyn) showers her with attention and marries her.
Ivan may have misjudged the harshness of his extremely wealthy Russian parents, Nikolai (Aleksei Serebryakov) and Galina Zakharova (Darya Ekamasova), who send their enforcers ahead to intimidate the young couple and pressure them to annul the marriage. Anora claims she genuinely loves Ivan, but soon finds herself alone against some potentially dangerous individuals determined to remove her from the equation.
Catch Anora on Hulu this Sunday, March 17.
**Fight Club (1999)**
*20th Century Studios*
If we had our choice, Fight Club would remain on Hulu indefinitely. And why shouldn't it? Like every other film in the 20th Century Fox library, it is now technically a Disney property. The story is anything but conventional. Ed Norton plays the Narrator, a man stuck in a monotonous and lonely existence until he meets the mysterious Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt).
In contrast to the Narrator, Tyler exudes charm and encourages him to assemble a group of similar-minded men for Fight Club, a venue where men can connect by beating each other up. This experience motivates the Narrator to recreate himself with newfound confidence, but Tyler harbors much bigger dreams. Once the Narrator realizes the extent of the trouble Tyler has drawn them into, there’s no turning back from Project Mayhem.

**The Prestige (2006)**
*Warner Bros. Pictures*
While some may argue that Batman Begins marked Christopher Nolan's rise as a box-office success, that journey truly commenced with The Prestige. This adaptation of Christopher Priest’s novel features Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, who portray rival magicians Alfred Borden and Robert Angier in the late 19th century, both willing to go to great lengths to outshine one another. Their obsession drives them to perilous extremes.
Angier’s assistant, Olivia Wenscombe (Scarlett Johansson), finds herself torn between Angier and Borden, as betrayals and heartbreak loom in their future. Meanwhile, Angier uncovers a secret that may merge magic and science, leading him to execute what could be the most remarkable magic trick ever performed… but at a steep cost.
