      Konami

The stealth genre has somewhat diminished as many games incorporate stealth mechanics without fully embracing what truly distinguishes the genre. Numerous top FPS games and horror titles offer players the chance to sneak around but also provide ample opportunities to engage in combat or bypass stealth altogether. In authentic stealth games, progressing through them without remaining silent, unseen, and unnoticed is either unfeasible or excessively challenging. All your abilities and tools focus on concealment, awareness, distraction, or neutralizing guards. There’s nothing quite like sneaking into a location, achieving your mission, and exiting without leaving any trace of your presence. These are the greatest stealth games of all time that evoke that unique sensation like no other. While less frequent, a few stealth titles in our upcoming video games list may make their way onto this list in the future. Note: We will only feature one entry per franchise.

The Best Hero Shooters on PC

The finest PC games span a variety of genres, but FPS games are especially popular. Counter-Strike 2 ranks consistently high on Steam's most played games list, even surpassing some of the most popular MMORPGs and free titles. Among the broader FPS genre, hero shooters are particularly favored. These games blend RPG elements by assigning unique traits and abilities to each character, enhancing the usual shooting experience. While Overwatch popularized the genre nearly a decade ago, numerous outstanding hero shooters have since emerged, refining and enhancing the formula in remarkable ways. Additionally, most of these titles are cross-platform, allowing for gameplay against console players. Here are the best hero shooters currently available on PC. Don’t forget that numerous upcoming PC games may become the next major hero shooter.

The Best Video Game Villains of All Time, Ranked

Players often form some connection with their characters in games, but it’s typically the villain who captures the most attention. In many franchises, the villain remains a consistent figure while the hero evolves, creating a rivalry that goes beyond the game itself. A good villain can possess various traits; they may present challenging boss encounters, have relatable objectives, or simply be so humorously evil that we enjoy seeing them. We've been facing off against some villains since the NES era, while others are more contemporary. Surely, we will uncover even more fantastic villains in forthcoming video games, but for now, here’s our ranking of the best video game villains of all time.

      7. Dr. Wily

Dr. Wily earns a place on this list for being one of the earliest recurring villains on the NES. Each Mega Man installment introduced a distinct set of robot masters to defeat, but the same mad scientist was perpetually orchestrating their rebellion. Ultimately, we consistently overcome his robots, invade his fortress, and apprehend him (except for that one occasion when Mega Man grew exhausted of it all and attempted to eliminate him). Wily’s ultimate goal was always world domination, largely out of jealousy for his partner receiving all the credit for their robotics work. Although his motivations and goals remained fairly static in each game, facing him at the end was always a delight with all the abilities you had accumulated.

The Hardest Levels in Video Game History

Occasionally an entire game can be difficult, other times it's tough boss battles, but then there are instances where one specific level elevates the challenge to unreasonable heights. It’s normal for games to become more challenging as you advance, but sometimes that difficulty spike isn't as gradual as it should be. In other cases, the gameplay may shift dramatically for a specific level. Whatever the circumstance, certain levels have remained notoriously difficult over time. Even when levels are technically fair, they may still require an unrealistic level of perfection from players to be deemed enjoyable. Here are some of the hardest levels in video game history that we hope to avoid in future playthroughs.

      Alien "Auto"topsy Part 3

It is unfortunate to include a level from a game as enjoyable as The Simpsons Hit & Run on this list, but the final stage has all the ingredients for a disappointing experience. The objective of this level is to gather barrels of nuclear waste and transport them to a UFO for destruction. You must navigate a fast, yet unresponsive vehicle, which is compounded by the fact that colliding with almost anything while carrying a barrel results in an explosion and a complete restart. To add to the pressure, the mission is governed by a timer. This time constraint increases stress, making crashes more likely. If you’re unfamiliar with the best routes and are unlucky with traffic and vehicle control, success is nearly impossible. This final level remains a major reason why many players have yet to complete this otherwise fantastic game.
