How to troubleshoot typical issues with the Roborock Saros 10

      Roborock

The Roborock Saros 10 and Saros 10R are among the top robot vacuums available today. These devices can mop, vacuum, and clean themselves automatically, allowing them to function for weeks without manual intervention. However, like any electronics, they are not devoid of problems. Although we didn't encounter any major issues during our testing, a few users have reported minor glitches with their devices. Fortunately, these can often be resolved quickly — with just a few minutes of maintenance, your Roborock can be restored to proper working condition.

Experiencing issues with your robot vacuum? Here’s a guide to the most frequent errors associated with the Roborock Saros 10 and their solutions. Note that these tips are also applicable to the Saros 10R.

      How to resolve Error 5

This error pertains to the robot's main brush. To address the issue, ensure that the brush isn't stuck on anything and that there are no blockages preventing it from rotating. This may involve removing the brush from the robot and inspecting its installation compartment, as debris and hair can accumulate inside. After clearing any obstructions, the error should be resolved.

To avoid this error in the future, consider checking the main brush more frequently to ensure that nothing gets trapped inside its housing.

      How to resolve Error 9

This error usually occurs when the dustbin and filter are not properly installed. Try reseating the filter and running the device again. If the dustbin and filter are correctly placed and the error persists, verify that the magnet is present on the side of the filter. If it is missing, the robot will not recognize the filter as installed. Filters lacking the magnet need to be replaced to address this error.

      How to resolve Error 10

If the filter is clogged, you will see the Error 10 message. Simply clean the filter and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling it in the robot. Once it's clean and dry, the error message should no longer appear.

      How to resolve Error 18

Error 18 indicates an issue with the fan and suction. Here are a few steps you can take to resolve it:

      1. Remove the dustbin and inspect it for any debris that may be obstructing airflow.

      2. Clean or replace the filter.

      3. Firmly tap the side of the robot to free any gunk obstructing its path.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to reach out to customer support or order a new fan.

How to resolve improper surface detection

While the Saros 10 and 10R are generally good at recognizing various surfaces, some users have reported problems. This includes misidentifying carpets as hard floors, leading to the mops being activated.

A simple fix is to access the Roborock mobile app and manually set the floor types. These options can be found when editing your map, allowing you to specify exactly where in your home the robot should mop. Additionally, consider cleaning the sensors with a soft cloth.

When in doubt, perform a factory reset

This should be viewed as a last resort — if other solutions fail, you may need to perform a factory reset on your device. This can be done by holding down the home button and pressing the reset button located on the top of the device. Continue holding the home button until the lights on the top of the device turn off, then release it.

This action will erase all your data, but it may also resolve any unusual issues that other troubleshooting measures couldn't fix.
