SpaceX's Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon are set for the Crew-10 launch from Florida's Space Coast.
SpaceX and NASA are finalizing preparations for the Crew-10 launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, scheduled for Wednesday, March 12. As always, the launch team is hoping for favorable weather conditions, as any inclement weather could delay the mission. People traveling to the Space Coast to view SpaceX’s first crewed launch since September will also be monitoring the weather forecasts. Currently, the outlook appears promising for Crew-10’s launch.
According to the latest forecast from the 45th Weather Squadron, which provides detailed weather assessments for U.S. air and space operations, there is a 95% chance of good conditions for the launch. This indicates that the only potential issues preventing an on-time liftoff would be technical difficulties or problems involving one of the four crew members. The 45th Weather Squadron’s report mentioned that, although the weather was unpredictable along Florida’s Space Coast recently, it is now improving rapidly. “Weather at the launch site will be very favorable with no major concerns for the primary launch day as a high-pressure system will be positioned directly over the Florida peninsula on Wednesday evening,” the forecast stated, noting that the only concern would be winds along the ascent corridor.
A beautiful sunrise was observed on the Crew-10 vehicle this morning. The excitement for this mission is high, and utmost precautions are being taken across systems to ensure crew and vehicle safety. Nothing gets the adrenaline rushing quite like human spaceflight!
Launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, the Crew Dragon spacecraft will transport NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, along with JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, to the International Space Station, where they will reside for approximately four months. This will mark the first time in orbit for Ayers and Peskov, while McClain and Onishi are on their second space missions.

In other news, debris from a SpaceX rocket created a fireball over Europe and crashed into a yard in Poland. The skies across Europe witnessed a dramatic fireball as debris from a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket made an uncontrolled re-entry into Earth's atmosphere, landing in Poland. As per the European Space Agency, this debris originated from a Starlink launch on February 1, with remnants of the rocket's upper stage entering the atmosphere early on February 19.
SpaceX has also achieved a significant milestone with its Falcon 9 rocket. On Tuesday night, SpaceX conducted a Falcon 9 mission with a unique twist, landing the booster in a different country from where it was launched. The company shared footage of this achievement on the social media platform X.
Additionally, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket has broken records by launching and landing a total of 26 times. Booster 1067 took off from Cape Canaveral in Florida on Saturday, delivering 21 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. Approximately eight minutes after launch, the first-stage booster successfully landed on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. SpaceX released footage of the booster completing its record-setting 26th flight.
