Google's Gemini simplifies the process of adding events to Calendar like never before.

In a blog post on Workspace Updates, Google revealed a new button that allows users to add events to Google Calendar directly from Gmail, based on the information in emails. This button will only appear if Gemini determines that the email pertains to an event.
When the button is clicked, a sidebar will open to inform you that Gemini has created the event. However, it also mentions that it hasn't invited any attendees yet, instructing you to do so manually by editing the event in Google Calendar. Furthermore, Gmail includes a “Show me what’s on my calendar that day” button for you to see other items on your agenda. When you check the event in Calendar, it notes that it was created from an external source.
As seen in Google's screenshot, the feature also presents an edit button in case any modifications are needed. However, during my testing of this feature, I did not encounter this option or any confirmation message prior to adding the event. The “Add to Calendar” button is a time-saving tool, allowing you to add events with a simple click, making it convenient even when you're pressed for time.
Google has stated that the feature is currently available only in English and on the web. It began rolling out today and is anticipated to be fully implemented by mid-April 2025. This feature is set to be available to Google One AI Premium subscribers and users of Workspace for business, education, and enterprise.
Gemini can also assist with various tasks, such as composing emails. For instance, it can draft an email wishing a friend a swift recovery, a thank-you note following a job interview, or a glowing review for a colleague.

Gemini adds impressive PDF capabilities to the Files by Google app
Google is striving to integrate its Gemini AI chatbot across numerous productivity tools. The most recent application to receive this generative AI enhancement is the Files by Google app, which now automatically displays Gemini analysis when a PDF document is opened.
This feature, initially shared within the r/Android Reddit community, is currently active on devices running Android 15. Digital Trends tested it on a Pixel 9 with the stable version of Android 15 and the latest edition of Google's file manager app.
Google’s new Gemini 2.0 AI model is about to be everywhere
Less than a year after the launch of Gemini 1.5, Google's DeepMind division announced the next-generation model, Gemini 2.0, on Wednesday. This new model supports native image and audio output, and the company stated in its announcement blog that it will allow the development of new AI agents, inching closer to the vision of a universal assistant.
Starting Wednesday, Gemini 2.0 is available across all subscription tiers, including the free version. As Google's flagship AI model, it is expected to begin powering AI features throughout the company's ecosystem in the upcoming months. Similar to OpenAI's o1 model, the initial release of Gemini 2.0 is not the complete version but rather a smaller, less capable "experimental preview" that will receive upgrades in future iterations of Google Gemini.
Google’s Gemini aims to understand the real you
Google has announced the rollout of a new feature for Gemini that will allow the chatbot to remember specific details about its users and recall these facts in future interactions.
"This enhances Gemini's ability to deliver even more useful and relevant responses, customized precisely for your requirements," the company noted in the release details for the new feature.
