3 new PlayStation Plus titles to enjoy this weekend (March 7-9)
BioWare
Although this first weekend in March is an hour shorter than usual, PlayStation Plus is bringing us some incredible games to occupy our time. The titles available in the Essential tier could potentially be among the best PlayStation Plus offerings of the entire year and are more than sufficient to keep you entertained until your next anticipated PS5 release arrives. This lineup features a recent PS5 RPG, a collection of beloved retro games, and a remastered installment of a long-established franchise. There's no time to waste this weekend deciding which games to try, so let us give you a rundown of the top new PlayStation Plus games to dive into.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Dragon Age: The Veilguard | Official Launch Trailer
Indeed, less than six months after its release, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is now available on PlayStation Plus Essential. The game faced some unnecessary controversy prior to its launch, but the final result is an enjoyable action RPG with compelling characters and ample reasons to immerse yourself in this grand fantasy universe. You will design your own character, known as Rook, who leads the Veilguard in a quest to prevent two ancient gods from annihilating the world. With a variety of classes to choose from, different weapon types to experiment with, and a charming cast to build relationships with, this is a fantastic addition to your subscription.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is currently accessible on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection
The Turtles are about to enjoy the weekend of their lives with The Cowabunga Collection. This compilation is more than just a few of the best TMNT games; it includes a staggering 13 titles enhanced with features like rewinds and save states, along with some online multiplayer options. This bundle showcases essential classics such as the original NES game, Turtles in Time, and Hyperstone Heist, allowing players to enjoy most in either the Western or Japanese version. Additionally, there is a comprehensive museum section featuring previously unseen concept art, design materials, and more related to these classic titles.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate
Sonic Colors is somewhat of an atypical entry in the Sonic franchise. Initially exclusive to the Wii and 3DS, it wasn’t until the release of Sonic Colors: Ultimate that it became available on additional platforms. Set in outer space, players will race through levels in a vast theme park controlled by Eggman. This game introduces the Whisp system, which grants Sonic special abilities for each level, from speeding up to transforming into a laser that can bounce off walls. Generally regarded as an average Sonic title, it still provides an enjoyable experience that fuels your adrenaline while showcasing vibrant colors.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

3 New PS Plus Games You Should Play This Weekend (January 10-12)
A fresh set of PlayStation Plus Essential games was released earlier this week. Unlike the PS Plus Extra and Premium Catalog drops that occur mid-month, this group features three games available from now until February 4, which PS Plus subscribers of all tiers can redeem. This has been one of the more diverse months for PS Plus Essential in a while, including a lackluster shooter based on the Suicide Squad comics from DC, a remaster of a 2010 racing title by EA, and an amusing pseudo-sequel to a notorious indie title from the early 2010s. If you're looking for games to play on your PS4 or PS5 this weekend, here are some recommendations.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - Season 4 - "Meet Deathstroke"
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was an ambitious live-service shooter from Rocksteady, known for the Batman: Arkham series. It has gained a reputation for its disappointing launch; upon revisiting the game a year later, my thoughts remain mixed. As the game receives its final content update this month, WB Games is offering Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for free to any PS Plus subscriber interested in it. While I wouldn’t suggest playing this game because it's great, it is an intriguing title to add to your collection in case you ever wish to explore it.
2024 Gaming Report Card: How Did PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Fare?
After a hectic year, 2024 is now in the past. Players have a few weeks to unwind before February's release calendar picks up with a slew of major titles. That's an issue for next month, however. For now
