Circular Ring 2 featuring ECG support is available for pre-orders, offering two significant features.

      Almost two months after unveiling its second-generation smart ring, Circular has commenced pre-orders for the Ring 2, which is set to start shipping in June. This model represents a significant upgrade, aiming to make up for the tepid reception of its predecessor.

      Crafted from jewelry-grade titanium, the smart ring is equipped with an ECG, PPG, and a temperature sensor. It can monitor heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen saturation, and electrocardiogram activity as well.

      The company asserts that it is the first FDA-cleared smart ring capable of ECG measurement, a feature popularized by the Apple Watch and adopted by various brands since then.

      The Ring 2 is designed to evaluate over 140 biomarkers, enabling it to track sleep, energy levels, stress, recovery time, and more. The integrated AI assistant can analyze the gathered data and provide personalized insights.

      The Circular Ring 2 has also received approval for AFib detection, a heart condition caused by irregular heart activity. Additionally, it includes a Women’s Health Suite that offers insights into cycle tracking, fertility, and associated wellness trends for women.

      Its IP68 rating ensures it is safe for swimming and workouts. Circular claims the second-gen smart ring has a seven-day battery life, with a full charge taking just 30 minutes.

      The Circular Ring 2 is available in Obsidian Black, Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold. Pre-orders are currently open, offering early backers a savings of up to $310. The retail price is set at $549, but those who pre-order early can purchase it for just $239.

      Addressing Two Major Issues

      Circular adopts a no-subscription model for its smart rings. Unlike brands such as Oura, customers pay a one-time fee for the smart ring and are all set.

      However, there is a system for earning digital coins through the companion app by achieving certain activity goals and maintaining healthy habits like adequate sleep. “These coins unlock exclusive features, insights, and perks within the app,” the company states.

      The Circular Ring 2 also eliminates the inconvenience associated with sizing kits. Most smart ring companies typically send a kit with dummy rings in different sizes, and only when customers find the correct fit and add it to their order is the actual ring shipped.

      With the Circular Ring 2, the company has introduced what it refers to as “industry-first Digital Ring Sizing technology.” All that is required is to place your hand with fingers spaced on a card, and the app will measure your size using its in-camera preview.
