The International Builders’ Show 2025 recently concluded, featuring thousands of exhibitors showcasing the latest advancements in home and construction technology. Jackery had a significant presence at the event, highlighting its new Explorer 5000 Plus solar generator and providing an exciting glimpse into the future of solar roofing, offering homeowners a distinctive method to power all their appliances.
Backup power solutions are increasingly vital for a well-equipped smart home, providing an effortless way to maintain home operations during emergencies. The Jackery 5000 Plus is designed as a sophisticated solution requiring minimal maintenance or manual control. By connecting directly to your home through the Jackery Smart Transfer Switch, it automatically engages once an outage is detected. This ensures your essential appliances, medical devices, and electronics remain operational even when the grid is down.
It boasts impressive specifications, including a 7200W output and an expandable storage capacity of up to 60kWh, near-silent operation, and a fume-free design suitable for indoor use. Additionally, it can be recharged with solar panels to prolong its battery life and supports both 120V and 240V for added versatility in powering your devices.

In relation to solar energy, Jackery used IBS 2025 to exhibit the Jackery Solar Roof. Initially showcased at CES 2025 earlier this year, the Jackery Solar Roof functions as both roofing material and solar panels. Instead of installing conventional solar panels, the Solar Roof presents a more aesthetically pleasing and comprehensive alternative. With a sleek, curved design that converts sunlight into energy, the tiles come with an impressive 30-year warranty and can resist extreme temperatures, making them appropriate for various climates across the United States.
Moreover, they are durable enough to endure high winds and hail, ensuring a reliable energy source for many years. Available in obsidian or terracotta, they offer homeowners the flexibility to align with their design preferences.
The Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus is offered in different formats, with the base model priced at $3,499 and reaching approximately $7,999 when bundled with the Smart Transfer Switch and including professional installation. The cost of the Jackery Solar Roof will vary depending on the home's size, but it typically ranges from $13,000 to $27,000, including installation expenses. While that may seem steep, Jackery’s solution is considerably more affordable compared to competing products from Tesla and other brands.

Eureka introduces an innovative robot vacuum with a belt mopping system at CES 2024
In the realm of robot vacuums and mops, most models utilize one of two cleaning methods: a vibrating mop plate or spinning mop pads. This year, Eureka is taking a different approach, revealing the J20 Robotic Vacuum and Floor Washer at CES 2024, which features a unique new belt mop design.
The RollRenew mopping system utilizes a cycling belt mop, a dual water tank, and five water nozzles. As the robot maneuvers its mop across your floors, the nozzles continuously spray water, tackling stains and soaking up spills. The dirty portion of the mop is cleaned by a scraper located underneath the robot, directing the dirty water into a wastewater reservoir.
Eufy displays four security cameras and an upcoming robot vacuum
Eufy is a well-known name in the smart home sector and showcased many exciting gadgets at CES 2024. In addition to presenting four recently launched security cameras, Eufy introduced the X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop, which aims to offer an affordable alternative to premium models from Roborock and Ecovacs.
The X10 Pro Omni doesn't introduce major innovations in the robot vacuum space. Most of its features, such as its ability to empty its dustbin and clean its mop to prevent mildew, have been seen in other robots. It also has an avoidance system to prevent it from colliding with shoes, toys, or other misplaced items. While its 8,000 Pa suction power is impressive, it matches the capabilities of several other robots already in the market.
