We now have a clear idea of what the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will look like, and its nostalgic Gameboy SP aesthetics are certainly appealing. The Z Flip 7 features a 3.6-inch cover display that opens up to a 6.8-inch internal display, officially making it larger than its predecessor. This increase in size is welcome, although the Z Flip 7 remains smaller than other flip phones available.
The images originate from an official CAD render leak for the Z Flip 7, first reported by Android Headlines. While these leaks don’t verify the device's internal specifications, they provide a basis for informed speculation based on visual evidence.
Starting with the cameras: the exterior showcases dual cameras, while an interior punch-hole camera is located at the top-center. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will likely maintain the same camera setup as the Flip 6, featuring a 50MP primary camera alongside a 12MP ultra-wide lens. It’s possible that Samsung could enhance the sensors, even if the resolution stays the same—however, since even the flagship Galaxy S25 did not see major camera improvements, it's wise to manage expectations.
The internal screen crease appears less pronounced, although this may be attributed to the quality of the render. When fully opened, the crease seems nearly invisible, with the hinge being the only clue to its presence. This aligns with other leaks; however, insider sources like PandaFlash X indicate that while the crease isn’t entirely eliminated, it is significantly reduced. They also mention the inclusion of a sturdier hinge, which would mark a positive advancement for Samsung, as previous hinges have been a known vulnerability in the devices.
There have been conflicting rumors regarding whether a Qualcomm or Exynos chip will be used for the internals, but recent leaks point towards the Exynos 2500 SoC. This has yet to be confirmed, so it shouldn't be taken as definitive until Samsung announces the specifications.
We anticipate the phone will feature 12GB of RAM, with storage options of 256GB and 512GB, as well as a variety of Galaxy AI functionalities. In terms of pricing, the Z Flip 7 is expected to maintain a starting price around $1,100.
You can expect the Z Flip 7—and the Z Fold 7—to be available in stores around July or August, with additional information likely to surface as the release date approaches.

Samsung's budget Galaxy Z Flip FE expected to retain specs from Galaxy Z Flip 6
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE is anticipated to debut sometime next year, probably toward the end of the second quarter of 2025. Currently, not much is known about this budget-friendly flip phone, other than its expected use of the Exynos 2500 chip. A recent leak indicates that it will feature the same display as the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Ross Young, a well-known insider and supply chain analyst, responded to a comment on X, stating that the Z Flip FE will utilize the same panel as the Z Flip 6. For context, that panel is a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080, a variable refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 2600 nits.
It seems that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will not feature a Snapdragon chip
The primary focus surrounding the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable is its likely chipset. There's speculation that Samsung is moving away from Qualcomm in favor of an in-house Exynos chip for this new device, set to launch sometime next summer.
According to The Elec, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will come equipped with a Samsung Exynos 2500 chip. Historically, every Galaxy Z Flip model has used a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This information aligns with prior reports from earlier this month, which claim to originate from a high-ranking official at Samsung.
5 things Samsung must do to surpass Apple in 2025
As the year comes to an end, and with no further announcements scheduled until 2025, it's time to evaluate the two leading phone competitors in the U.S. and compare their trajectories over the past year.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra has been both beneficial and challenging for Samsung, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 reinforces this duality. Samsung's phones are exceptional, but they struggle to differentiate themselves in the market. Competing companies are focusing on unique features of the Galaxy line, and thus far, Samsung has not adjusted its strategy.
