The captivating new PS5 mode of Sayonara Wild Hearts is worth experiencing again.
Annapurna Interactive
Sayonara Wild Hearts makes a triumphant return six years after its debut. Announced during the 2025 Annapurna Interactive Showcase, the developer Simogo's playable pop album now has a PlayStation 5 version available today. The enhanced version of Sayonara Wild Hearts introduces impressive features, making it an ideal opportunity to revisit this stylish masterpiece or experience it for the first time.
Before we delve into the core features of Sayonara Wild Hearts on PS5, let’s discuss the technical upgrades. If you own the game on PS4, you can upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost. The PS5 edition offers support for 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, allowing the vibrant neon colors to truly stand out. Additionally, Simogo has incorporated haptic feedback via the DualSense controller, although my experience with this feature was somewhat lackluster. There are a few vibrations that sync with the music, but they don’t fully utilize the more advanced adaptive triggers of the DualSense.
Now, let’s focus on the highlight: Remix Arcade. This brand-new game mode exclusive to the PS5 transforms Sayonara Wild Hearts into a sort of infinite runner. For those unfamiliar, the main game features various levels blending rhythm mechanics and endless runner elements. Players control a woman as she navigates through a range of actions, including running, driving, and flying, along elongated paths filled with obstacles and collectibles. Much like an album, the game is meticulously arranged across 23 levels that last approximately an hour and a half in total. Remix Arcade remix those crafted levels, creating a version of the game that is endless and satisfying. The sole requirement to access this new mode is to complete Album Arcade at least once.
Sayonara Wild Hearts is, at its core, a playable pop album focused on immersing players in the music and visuals of its levels. The experience prioritizes atmosphere above all else. The blend of music, visuals, and rhythmic mechanics draws players into a hypnotic flow state, which is why many will complete the game in one uninterrupted session. Remix Arcade frees this continuous flow by eliminating the fixed endpoint of each level. It achieves this by segmenting the 23 levels of the base game into smaller parts that are randomly combined as players progress through their run. As the runs extend, they become increasingly frantic. Unlike the base game, which has distinct points of rising and falling action designed to allow players moments of respite, Remix Arcade features an uninterrupted surge of excitement.
Though it may seem like a minor addition, Remix Arcade almost feels like a completely different game. This is due to the contrasting experiences each version aims to provide to players. The base game, as a playable pop album, guides players through an emotional narrative using its visuals, music, and gameplay. Players can engage with the story without fully mastering the rhythm mechanics.
In contrast, Remix Arcade offers a purely mechanical experience that reimagines Sayonara Wild Hearts using its fundamental elements. Simogo is clearly drawing on its mobile game development experience here, as Remix Arcade provides a more refined take on the endless runner genre. To succeed in Remix Arcade, players need to fully mastering the game mechanics, independent from the familiar structure of the base levels. Consequently, Sayonara Wild Hearts on PS5 becomes even more appealing to those who have played the base game extensively.

Oh hey, GTA 5 is back on PlayStation Plus this month
November's lineup for PlayStation Plus is filled with exciting games, both in quality and quantity. However, with the anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on the horizon (expected sometime next year), the most notable addition is Grand Theft Auto 5, which has returned to the subscription service after leaving earlier this year.
There's little that hasn't been said about GTA 5 already. It's one of the best-selling games ever and remains impressive even more than a decade post-release. It's probable that you already own it on some platform, but if not, or if you want to experience it on PlayStation 5 or 4, you can play it for free with an Extra or Premium subscription.
The PS5 Pro holds the key to the PS6’s success
When the PlayStation 5 Pro was unveiled, the term that generated considerable excitement was PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This feature is positioned as the “secret sauce” aimed at enticing both new customers and existing PS5 users to consider the $700 upgrade. Similar to AI upscaling technologies like DLSS, PSSR enables games rendered at a lower resolution to be enhanced using AI to appear more detailed. For the PS5 Pro, this means users won’t have to choose between a performance mode that emphasizes frame rate and
