Spider-Man 3: all the information we have gathered to date

After the conclusion of Insomniac's Spider-Man 2, there were several unresolved plot points that hinted at a sequel. Aside from being heralded as one of the greatest superhero games ever, these titles are undoubtedly among the top PS5 games available, leading many to anticipate another installment, much like with Ghost of Tsushima. While a Wolverine game is also in development, Spider-Man 3 may be closer on the list of forthcoming PS5 titles than one might think. We've gathered all the information available about Spider-Man 3 so far.

Though much remains unknown about this game, it is clear that it will not be part of the upcoming Xbox Series X or Switch game lists. However, there are numerous titles for those platforms worth checking out.

      **Release Speculation**

Technically, Spider-Man 3 has not been officially announced. We are aware of its existence due to leaks and an actor's confirmation of their role, but Insomniac and Sony have yet to publicly disclose details about the project. Nevertheless, the initial leak suggested that the game might be set for a late 2027 or 2028 release. There were also indications of a Venom DLC or spinoff that could affect this timeline if it is still intended to release before Spider-Man 3.

      **Platforms**

It can be confidently stated that Spider-Man 3 will be a PS5 exclusive at launch. After a period of 6 months to a year, it should also arrive on PC. However, by 2028, PlayStation may begin releasing its first-party games on PC simultaneously with consoles. Regardless, those are the two platforms where you can expect to find this game.

      **Trailers**

Currently, there are no official trailers or images for Spider-Man 3. It’s likely that the game is still in the early stages of development and has nothing to showcase at this time.

Speculation regarding the story can be drawn from the ending of Spider-Man 2, which suggests that Norman is preparing to transform into the Green Goblin and potentially resurrect Doc Ock. Additionally, we were introduced to Cindy Moon, known as Silk from the comics, in a post-credits scene.

      **Gameplay**

It is expected that Spider-Man 3 will build upon the framework established in Spider-Man 2, while introducing new movement and combat mechanics. It is thought that Silk may become a third playable character, allowing for a distinct gameplay style.

According to Peter Parker's voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, speaking with The Direct, Peter will still be a part of the game. “There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.” Fans concerned about Peter retiring the mask can rest assured.

      **Preorder**

Unfortunately for Spider-Man enthusiasts, Spider-Man 3 has not been officially confirmed yet. If the game is indeed slated for late 2027 at the earliest, preorders likely won’t open for a couple more years. In the meantime, stay tuned here for updates as new information becomes available.
