Neverwinter Nights was released in 2002, and even after 23 years, its developer has just rolled out an official new DLC that offers around 15 hours of gameplay. The Doom of Icewind Dale is penned by Luke Scull, an award-winning fantasy writer and one of the lead designers on another Neverwinter Nights expansion, the Tyrants of Moonsea.

You can complete the main storyline of this new expansion in 10 to 15 hours, but there's additional content to explore. It features 14 new monsters, various new locations to check out, and much more. Scull mentions that purchasing this DLC will support the Blades of Netheril campaign, which extends the story of the Hero of Neverwinter. The campaign will kick off with the Doom of Neverwinter DLC, and Scull describes it as the start of a 60+ hour adventure, intending to launch it for free.

Dungeons and Dragons games have recently gained significant popularity, largely due to Baldur’s Gate 3. However, Dungeons and Dragons was already making its way into the mainstream even before Larian's influence.

There have been talks about a remaster of Neverwinter Nights 2, but developer Beamdog has stated that it is not involved. It's uncertain if another studio, like Aspyr, will bring it to life. Currently, there are more than a dozen paid modules and hundreds of free ones available in the community for Neverwinter Nights. A remaster of the sequel would be a delightful surprise, but for now, a new campaign for the original game will provide entertainment for some time.

Scull shares that the Blades of Netheril campaign is his final project, aiming for it to be a “love letter to NWN.” The Doom of Icewind Dale is now available on both Steam and GOG for $10, with a 10% discount if purchased before February 28.

My Friend Pedro follow-up Shotgun Cop Man is Celeste with guns

Developer DeadToast Entertainment has just revealed its next game: Shotgun Cop Man. Scheduled for release this year on PC and Nintendo Switch with a price of $10, the action shooter is published by Devolver Digital. Prior to its announcement, Digital Trends showcased its first 17 levels, which included a tutorial, the initial world, and a boss fight.

Shotgun Cop Man is a 2D shooter where a cop must venture to Hell to arrest Satan. That's essentially the premise. It shares similarities with My Friend Pedro, DeadToast's 2019 shooter that featured players performing acrobatic violence reminiscent of a John Woo film. Shotgun Cop Man is more modest in scope, choosing simpler visuals over extravagant cinematic effects. However, it retains the spirit of My Friend Pedro, as it emphasizes a blend of mobility and shooting.

      Is Split Fiction cross-platform?

Hazelight Studios has carved a niche for itself specializing in cooperative games. A Way Out and It Takes Two not only encourage playing with a friend, but they require it. The upcoming game Split Fiction follows suit. Although we loved those earlier titles, a major drawback was their lack of cross-platform support. This meant players needed to either share a split-screen with their partner or both be on the same platform. Will Split Fiction also impose that limitation, or will players be able to embark on this journey with friends regardless of their platform?

      Is Split Fiction cross-platform?

Yes, Split Fiction will be the first Hazelight title to support crossplay across all platforms. This means that players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S will be able to play together, as long as everyone has a free EA Account. If you don’t have one yet, you can register right here.
