Three new PlayStation Plus titles to enjoy this weekend (February 7-9).
Squanch Games
It may be the shortest month of the year, but PlayStation is still loading it with new games added to the PlayStation Plus catalog. The initial week is always reserved for the Essential tier, meaning these games are accessible to all subscribers. This month, time is limited with a slew of massive upcoming PS5 releases, such as Monster Hunter Wilds and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, although they are not available just yet. This weekend features a lineup of games that serve as enjoyable distractions while you await your next major gaming commitment. We've got a fantastic cooperative game, a shorter title you could complete in a day or two, and a surprising remake that might capture your heart. If you don’t have other plans, these are three new PlayStation Plus games worth exploring this weekend.
High on Life
Games rarely endeavor to be intentionally humorous. Comedy is inherently subjective, and given the player's significant control over game pacing, it's almost impossible for every joke to resonate as intended. High on Life, developed by Squanch Games, is a rare case where the game format enhances its humor. This fast-paced first-person shooter is set in a sci-fi universe where you play as an alien bounty hunter wielding living weapons called Gatlians, all voiced by comedians like J. B. Smoove, Tim Robinson, Betsy Sodaro, Jack Black, and more. If Rick and Morty’s humor doesn’t appeal to you, this may not either, but if it does, you're in for a treat.
High on Life is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
PayDay 3
The launch of PayDay 3 was met with disappointment, to say the least. It faced numerous bugs, server challenges, and a lack of content compared to previous titles, but improvements have been made over time. It's still not quite at the level hardcore fans anticipated, but newcomers interested in this unique co-op shooter style can enjoy a full weekend of fun with friends. You join a team of criminals to engage in various heists that unfold dynamically based on your chosen approach. If you coordinate and sneak, you might pull off a bank heist without raising any alarms, or you could charge in guns blazing, treating it as a classic shooter. Both methods are valid and offer a great experience.
PayDay 3 is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac
Astro Bot reminded everyone just how enjoyable old-school 3D platformers can be on PlayStation. While we won’t claim that this remake of the original PS1 title matches that quality, it certainly carries the whimsy and charm we once adored. This updated version revamps the controls, introduces new modes, and undoubtedly looks much better than before. Though it remains a straightforward game, it offers enough variety to keep things interesting without becoming overly frustrating. Even if you’re not a fan of the original Pac-Man, this is a solid 3D platformer you can unwind with this weekend.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

This is a great week to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber. Three new PS Plus Essential games have just been released, with one that is a must-play for subscribers this weekend. Additionally, with Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered set to launch next week, PS Plus Premium subscribers can prepare for it by playing the two other Legacy of Kain games newly added to the PS Plus Premium Classic Catalog this weekend.
It Takes Two
It Takes Two – Official Gameplay Trailer
Josef Fares' Hazelight Studios is recognized for crafting story-driven cooperative games that emphasize the need for collaboration. The studio's latest release, It Takes Two, is a 3D platformer that follows a married couple struggling with their relationship, who find themselves trapped in dolls' bodies. Their quest to mend their relationship is filled with humor, emotional depth, and captivating gameplay as both a narrative-driven experience and cooperative adventure. It Takes Two won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021 for a reason, so it’s definitely worth your attention if you haven’t played it yet.
