Dungeons of Hinterberg, the cel-shaded action RPG from Curve Games and Microbird, is set to launch on the PlayStation 5. You’ll be able to experience it on March 13. While the price is not yet confirmed, it is available for $30 on both Xbox and Steam, so it is likely to be the same upon its release on PlayStation.
The game will include all current content, featuring the New Game Plus mode. If you’re new to Dungeons of Hinterberg, this means over 25 dungeons to explore across four distinct biomes, each located in a different scenic area of the Alps. Additionally, the PlayStation 5 version will present a new, secret bonus episode.
This game merges dungeon exploration, adventure, and social simulation with the captivating mythology of the Alps. Situated in a small Austrian village named Hinterberg, it attracts individuals from around the globe seeking an adventurer's lifestyle. Some approach it as a profession, while others view it as an extreme vacation.
Forming friendships with the locals grants you new abilities, enhances your strength, and may even lead to acquiring new items that simplify access to certain regions.
Overall, Dungeons of Hinterberg boasts over 25 dungeons, 20 different types of enemies and bosses, and more than 20 NPC characters you can befriend. Each day allows you to decide who to spend time with, which dungeon to explore, and how to relax in the evenings after engaging in some classic monster-slaying.
At Digital Trends, we enjoyed our time with the game so much that it secured a spot on our list of the best video games of 2024. Dungeons of Hinterberg is relatively short—approximately 15 hours of gameplay, with additional hours needed for full completion.
