The Samsung Galaxy S25 has already gained significant popularity, with pre-orders in South Korea surpassing those of the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung reports that there were 1.31 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 between January 24 and February 3, compared to 1.21 million pre-orders for the previous S-series model in the same timeframe.
Samsung has also disclosed the performance of each model within the series. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the most sought-after variant, with 52% of customers choosing this higher-end option. The standard Galaxy S25 follows with 26% of pre-orders, while the Galaxy S25 Plus has garnered 22% of the pre-orders, placing it last among the trio.
These statistics are specific to the South Korean market, but it is likely that the global pre-order preferences align similarly. The top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra includes features present in the other two models alongside enhancements like a more adaptable camera, the S Pen stylus, a larger display, and additional advantages. Nonetheless, all three phones incorporate Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI functionalities, which the company is actively promoting as a key reason to purchase.
While the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the most advanced Galaxy S25 device available, and we rated it 8/10 in our comprehensive review, it isn't necessarily the phone we would recommend as the immediate choice. In our view, the Galaxy S25 Plus represents the sweet spot in the lineup, priced at $300 less. It’s worth careful consideration before finalizing your decision, despite a lukewarm response to pre-orders from South Korean consumers.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is still open for pre-order, with an official launch date set for February 7. The best color option for the Samsung Galaxy S25 you should consider
The new Galaxy S25 series has been released, offering various color choices for Samsung’s latest flagship devices. Some colors are more subdued for those seeking a classic look, while others are vibrant and intended to make your new phone stand out.
While many users opt for a case—which I recommend, suggesting one of the best Galaxy S25 cases for this year’s models—you may prefer a colorful phone to display, especially if you intend to use a transparent case. With seven color options available for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus, including online exclusive colors, and six options for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which color stands out as the best?
The OnePlus 13 has already established a high bar for Android smartphones in 2025
Just four weeks into the new year, it is evident that 2025 will be a highly competitive year for smartphones. In contrast to previous years when manufacturers typically waited until February or March to unveil their first-half flagships, the early release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite last year has prompted all companies to launch their products sooner.
Honor introduced the Magic 7 Pro two weeks ago, followed by Samsung's Galaxy S25 series last week. However, preceding these launches was the debut of the OnePlus 13, a device I believe is setting the benchmark for smartphones in 2025.
Samsung's next budget model will offer faster charging than the Galaxy S25
Typically, budget smartphones require less charging power than their flagship counterparts, resulting in longer charging times. Nonetheless, the FCC has confirmed that Samsung’s upcoming affordable device, the Samsung Galaxy A56, will support faster charging than the Galaxy S25.
As reported by GSMArena, a leaked FCC document indicates that the Galaxy A56 will be capable of 45-watt charging, potentially allowing it to charge quicker than the Galaxy S25. This information is derived from a "status information" screenshot revealing that the budget Galaxy model is designed to operate at 10 volts and 4.5 amps, equating to 45W of charging power.
