Asus has unveiled the ROG Phone 9 FE. After the name had been observed over the past few weeks, this enigmatic Asus device, with a name reminiscent of Samsung products, has officially launched in Thailand. At the time of writing, it is available in Asus's online store within the country, though it is not listed in U.S. or U.K. stores.
The inclusion of the FE designation—previously associated with Samsung since the Galaxy Note 7—isn't the only peculiar naming choice from Asus. While it's named the ROG Phone 9, its technical specifications are more aligned with the ROG Phone 8 Pro than the latest model. Let’s examine it more closely.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and equipped with 16GB of RAM, the device does not feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the ROG Phone 9 Pro. Similar to the ROG Phone 8 Pro, it has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display (ironically manufactured by Samsung), a 5,500mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging capabilities, stereo speakers, and the AniMe RGB display on the device's back panel. The camera setup remains unchanged, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera.
Interestingly, the ROG Phone 9 FE is available alongside the ROG Phone 8 Pro in Asus's Thai store, but the older model has a higher price tag, likely deterring buyers who compare specifications. The overall dimensions and weight are identical. The ROG Phone 9 FE is significantly less expensive than the latest ROG Phone 9 Pro and ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition models, and once the ROG Phone 8 Pro stock is depleted, it will help fill a gap in Asus's product lineup.
However, choosing to use the FE name is still an odd decision, considering there are 24 other letters available that are not associated with another brand's products. It remains uncertain whether the ROG Phone 9 FE will have a broader release.

Have you ever woken up late only to find that your alarm never went off? You're not the only one. Despite multiple assurances, Apple has yet to resolve this issue.
On the r/iPhone subreddit, user u/bryanlolwut shared a screenshot showing his 10:30 a.m. alarm sounding off at 12:42 p.m. Other users quickly added their own similar experiences and grievances, with one remarking, "I feel vindicated."

Additionally, Poco has introduced the most exciting and geeky phone at CES 2025.
I have a fondness for special edition smartphones, though they can be challenging to execute correctly. Some collaborations don’t seem to make much sense, while others can be excessively elaborate yet delightfully niche.
Fortunately, Poco's Iron Man Edition of the new X7 Pro perfectly embodies this concept. Announced at CES 2025, I had the opportunity to see it in person, and it’s remarkable.
It features a stunning Iron Man-themed design.
