MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital jointly lead a $3 million investment in Oro to expand agentic finance.
TL;DROro has secured $3 million in a funding round co-led by MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital to enhance its agentic finance platform, which transforms natural-language commands into non-custodial DeFi transactions. The platform boasts over 350,000 active users across more than 80 languages and has engaged in campaigns with Avalanche and Ondo Finance. Its Shield Engine ensures that users’ keys remain local, addressing the $444 million in Web3 losses attributed to wallet compromises in the first half of 2026.
For the majority of the past three years, AI's role in finance was mostly limited to chatbots attached to dashboards, which could only provide basic explanations rather than perform direct actions like executing transactions. However, by the end of Q1 2026, it was reported that most organizations began deploying AI agents for routine financial tasks previously managed by humans.
The agents haven’t necessarily become significantly smarter or has technology made a massive leap; rather, the disparity between instruction and action has diminished. Users can now simply articulate an outcome, allowing the system to determine the execution method. Oro has been pioneering this space long before "agentic finance" became a common term in pitch decks.
Oro, which converts user-friendly financial instructions into complex, non-custodial transactions, recently announced a $3 million strategic funding round co-led by MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital, with contributions from M2M Capital, Archer Capital, X21 Digital, and returning investors Disrupt.com and ZIG Labs. This funding raises Oro’s total capital to $4 million.
Proven Usage Beyond Just Aspirations
In the past year, Oro has attracted over 350,000 unique active users in more than 80 languages, aided by an educational campaign with Avalanche that saw over 250,000 verified completions and a collaboration with Ondo Finance that achieved more than 50,000 completions within the first 24 hours.
Establishing trust proves to be a more complex challenge, and Oro's non-custodial approach has become increasingly relevant. Specifically, wallet compromises have resulted in approximately $444 million in Web3 losses in the first half of this year, surpassing all other attack types (even though they occur less frequently than code-level exploits). To enhance security, every transaction on the Oro platform requires the user's own signature, ensuring that no action is taken without explicit consent.
Additionally, the $3 million funding is designated for four key areas: expanding the Shield Engine and natural-language execution stack, enhancing global user acquisition efforts, developing compliance frameworks for what Oro describes as policy-guarded autonomous custody, and growing engineering and business development teams for enterprise integrations. Varun Choudhary, Oro’s co-founder and CEO, remarked on the development, stating, "We are witnessing a monumental shift toward intent-based execution. Real, sustainable product-market fit backed by hundreds of thousands of active users will always attract top-tier institutional capital."
Building an Agentic Future for Finance
According to Choudhary and his team, the next 6 to 12 months will be crucial for Oro as they aim to grow their user base to 10 million while launching native iOS and Android applications. The team is also exploring deeper integrations with various protocols, including Morpho, Kamino, Lido, Aave, Uniswap, and Raydium. Exciting developments are on the horizon.
