Gears of War: E-Day appears to be more intense and harsher than before.

      **Gears of War: E-Day**

Gears of War: E-Day is approaching, and if you were hoping for some relief for Marcus Fenix before the game’s release, the latest trailer presents some grim news for him.

The Coalition unveiled a new story trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live, providing another glimpse into the initial stages of humanity's battle against the Locust. More significantly, it introduces a notably unpleasant new adversary intent on worsening an already dire situation. At one moment, someone even has Emulsion poured over their head, indicating that E-Day is not gently reintroducing us to the Gears universe.

**Marcus Fenix is having a terrible day**

The trailer focuses on Marcus and Bravo Squad as they struggle to navigate the rapidly declining circumstances in Kalona. We also witness the magnitude of the threat when the squad goes underground and uncovers a vast gathering of Locust forces below. That is definitely not something you'd want to encounter.

Unsurprisingly, Marcus is not one to back down. He continues to push ahead, even as the environment grows more hopeless, offering E-Day ample opportunity to showcase a younger version of the character prior to his transformation into the seasoned soldier fans recognize from the original games. The campaign will illustrate this escalating chaos through a three-act format, with the situation escalating in desperation as the Locust invasion advances.

      **E-Day is looking remarkably impressive**

Amidst all the explosions, monsters, and general despair, the trailer is an impressive showcase of the game’s visuals. Character models feature incredible detail, expressions appear much more lifelike, and there are many meticulously crafted touches throughout. At one point, you can even see individual droplets of water on characters’ faces. This level of detail might go unnoticed while you’re engaged in trying to flee from the Locust, but it enhances the cinematic scenes considerably.

      Gears of War: E-Day

And since this is Gears of War, the trailer doesn’t simply fade to black. It concludes with the unmistakable sound of a Chainsaw Lancer revving up. Some elements really shouldn’t change. Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. The campaign is expected to exceed 14 hours and will allow players to take control of various members of Bravo Squad. Additionally, there will be plenty of content post-story, including Horde Siege co-op and a comprehensive array of multiplayer modes.

**The Witcher 3 is 11 years old, and CD Projekt Red still has remasters and expansions to keep us engaged**

Still waiting for Witcher 4? Too bad! Here's Witcher 3 again, complete with a brand-new expansion pack.

When I got my first gaming laptop nearly a decade ago, Witcher 3 was among the first games I tried out. I was finally able to play with high graphics settings and immerse myself in its fantasy world. After investing an excessive amount of time into the game, I completed its main story and DLCs. Now, 11 years later, I'm astonished at the prospect of returning. At Gamescom Opening Night Live, the studio announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, a comprehensive free upgrade arriving on September 29. The audience erupted in cheers when they revealed more details about Songs of the Past, a full-scale expansion set for 2027 that will take Geralt to an entirely new region for what CD Projekt Red describes as his final adventure. Eleven years after The Witcher 3's debut, I suddenly find myself with a compelling reason to start a new save.

**NO LAW looks like Cyberpunk 2077 at home, but honestly, I’m here for it**

The Ascent developer’s new open-world shooter combines stealth, hacking, shooting, and significant choices in a very recognizable cyberpunk city.

Neon Giant, the studio that developed The Ascent, has finally shared our first proper look at NO LAW gameplay, and I’m already intrigued. This first-person cyber-noir shooter takes place in the lawless port city of Port Desire, where you play as veteran Grey Harker and can supposedly approach challenges through stealth, shooting, hacking, and a casual disregard for others’ belongings. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

It gives off vibes from Cyberpunk, Thief, and Deus Ex — and I’m not complaining.
