      I can endorse this film mostly for Anna Faris, who wholeheartedly embodies the stoned character and transforms this low-budget comedy into an impressive display of slapstick humor. She earned a Best Actress award at the Method Fest for this role, and it’s easy to see why when you observe her navigating simple tasks as if they were challenging obstacles. Although it’s far from a polished film and critics had mixed reactions upon its release, if you're in the mood for something lighthearted and low-effort, this one hits the mark.

      **Let the Right One In (2008)**

      Oskar, a lonely twelve-year-old boy who is bullied at school, forms a friendship with Eli, the unusual girl who moves in next door and only comes out at night. As their relationship deepens, a series of mysterious deaths begins to occur in their snowy neighborhood in Stockholm. Oskar soon learns that Eli harbors a grim, bloodthirsty secret. Instead of leaning into conventional vampire horror clichés, the film presents Eli’s condition as tragic, entwined with themes of isolation, first love, and quiet violence.

      Director Tomas Alfredson filmed the entire movie in subdued blues and silences, allowing the dread to accumulate gradually rather than depending on jump scares. Kåre Hedebrant and Lina Leandersson deliver impressively mature performances for child actors, effectively handling scenes that demand genuine emotional depth. The concluding scene is a masterpiece of tension and visual narrative.

      What starts as a conventional investigative procedure gradually evolves into something much stranger, intertwining shamanistic rituals, possession, and paranoia. The intense exorcism scene midway through is easily one of the most captivating moments in contemporary horror cinema. I recommend this one for its commitment to a slow burn, allowing the mystery to deepen over two hours before revealing its full extent. That patience culminates in one of the most widely discussed endings in recent horror films.
