For the skeptics, there's bad news, but for those who appreciate a sleek phone, there's good news.
Apple's all-screen iPhone 20 concept
Just when it seemed that Apple may have abandoned its ambitious glass iPhone redesign, information has emerged indicating that the plan is very much active. Mark Gurman, a renowned leaker writing for Bloomberg, has reported that the iPhone marking its 20th anniversary with a groundbreaking all-glass design is scheduled for release in 2027.
So, was the all-glass iPhone actually scrapped?
Gurman has confirmed that Apple's roadmap for next year's iPhone Pro models remains unchanged, which are anticipated to feature a glass-dominant design to celebrate the phone’s 20th anniversary.
NEW: Apple is still intending to implement a glass-focused redesign of the iPhone for its 20th anniversary next year, according to sources familiar with the situation, contradicting an analyst report suggesting the idea had been shelved. https://t.co/Tf8oxRFM7O— Mark Gurman (@markgurman) August 11, 2026
This contradicts a recent report from Jefferies analyst Edison Lee, who stated that supply chain challenges had led to the design being abandoned, even causing a downgrade of Apple’s stock. Apple shares fell by as much as 2.8% following this news, but if these sources are accurate, the skeptics may have overreacted.
The design, referred to internally as V73 and V74, incorporates glass on both the front and back that curves into the sides, with a metal band in the center. Apple’s design team reportedly experimented with an even more daring version that eliminated metal altogether, but that concept was abandoned early on since managing such extensive glass bonding at a large scale proved to be a significant challenge.
What else is Apple working on before that?
There’s a lot happening before this redesign comes to fruition. Next month, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will debut, featuring significant camera enhancements, a foldable iPhone described as Apple's most significant design transformation yet, and a new dark red color. In the spring, anticipate the standard iPhone 18, a refresh of the budget-friendly 18e, and a second-generation iPhone Air equipped with an additional camera, a quicker chip, and improved battery life.

The iPhone continues to account for about half of Apple’s revenue, with a 22% increase in sales last quarter. As incoming CEO John Ternus assumes his position on September 1, this glass redesign could become one of the most eye-catching launches during the early days of his leadership.

Beeper has just resolved the hassle of messaging the same individual across multiple apps
Beeper's latest update consolidates conversations with the same contact across different apps into one thread.
During a typical workday, I communicate with the same group of people across three to four various applications. Most often, I use Teams or Slack for work-related tasks, WhatsApp for location sharing or personal communications, and Instagram for Reels (largely memes). On calmer days, managing this is manageable, but during busier periods, juggling separate conversations has occasionally thrown me off balance.
Beeper has released an update addressing this confusion. The universal chat application can now gather conversations with the same person from different platforms into a single chat thread. While this isn’t the only new feature the platform has introduced, it is arguably the most significant one.
Grok Bot aims to lighten your workload rather than solely respond to your inquiries
SpaceXAI and Cursor's new Grok Bot application reimagines AI as a collaborative teammate.
SpaceXAI and Cursor have just launched Grok Bot, which is centered around AI agents known as Bots or “teammates.” It is designed to accomplish actual work and only consult you when tasks are nearing completion and require your approval. Grok Bot is currently in beta for Mac, iOS, Windows, and Linux, with an Android version and an enterprise edition on the way.
Bumble has altered who can initiate the conversation
Bumble has now enabled anyone in a match to send the first message.
Bumble is modifying one of the foundational rules that have defined the dating app since its inception: now either individual matched can initiate the conversation. This change is being rolled out globally today, giving both men and women greater freedom in how discussions begin. Additionally, Bumble is extending the time to respond from 24 hours to 72 hours, making it less likely for a promising match to fade simply because someone was busy for a day.
