MSI includes a mouse, headset, and extended mouse pad with its newly released white Crosshair gaming laptop.
MSI has introduced the Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition worldwide, giving one of its upper mid-range gaming laptops a white-and-red design along with a complete set of coordinated accessories. Here, MLG signifies Mo-Loong-Gi, or “Dragon Princess,” referencing an original character created by MSI rather than Major League Gaming.
What does this special edition laptop offer?
The top configuration comes equipped with a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU featuring 12GB of GDDR7 memory. MSI allows both the CPU and GPU to pull up to 190W under combined loads, with cooling managed by two fans, five heat pipes, and four exhaust vents.
The 16-inch QHD+ display boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a 240Hz refresh rate, and is claimed to have 100% DCI-P3 coverage. MSI has yet to disclose the available RAM and storage options, only noting that the laptop has two DDR5 slots accommodating up to 96GB of memory, along with support for PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 storage. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6E, and USB-C with DisplayPort output and Power Delivery.
The special-edition package also consists of a matching mouse, headset, and extended mouse pad. Additionally, MSI plans to offer a limited character figure and unique packaging in select markets while supplies last.
What will the price be?
MSI states that the laptop is available worldwide, but has not provided a US price or confirmed the specific configuration that will reach American retailers. The laptop seems to relate to MSI’s newer Crosshair A16 HX E8W lineup, but the current US configurations separate its defining specifications across different models.
The E8WGK-009US combines the Ryzen 9 8940HX with an RTX 5070 that has 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The E8WGXK-052US features the 12GB RTX 5070 but uses a Ryzen 7 8840HX. Neither model matches the Ryzen 9 and 12GB RTX 5070 combination promoted for the MLG Edition.
An 8GB RTX 5070 Crosshair A16 HX was spotted on Amazon for approximately $2,700 at the time of writing. The white finish, 12GB GPU, matching accessories, and limited-edition features will likely elevate the MLG Edition's price beyond that.
