      An analyst inquired about Apple's strategy for covering the computing expenses associated with Siri AI, especially given the apparent strong usage during the beta phase. CEO Tim Cook responded directly, indicating that Apple anticipates a demand for extensive usage and confirmed plans to introduce “upgrade possibilities on iCloud+ where users can purchase additional capacity.” In simpler terms, if you utilize Siri AI extensively, Apple prefers you to upgrade to a higher iCloud+ tier to help offset costs.

Later in the call, when discussing whether Siri AI would impact Apple's capital expenditures, Cook reiterated the same concept, mentioning that high usage provides individuals “the ability… to move up on an iCloud plan as well.” He acknowledged that the decision of whether Apple should absorb these AI costs or transfer them through iCloud+ upgrades remains “a bit uncertain at the moment.”

      This isn’t a first for Apple. Recall that the new AI capabilities in the Apple Home app are limited to the 2TB iCloud+ plan, which is priced at $9.99/month. Therefore, Apple has already set a precedent.
