Another price increase from Apple has occurred, this time affecting Apple One.
Apple has increased the monthly fees for its Family and Premier Apple One plans in the US by $2. The Family plan now costs $27.95 per month, up from $25.95, while the Premier plan has risen from $37.95 to $39.95. This results in an additional $24 per year for both plans. The Individual plan remains at $19.95 per month.
This price hike follows a similar increase for Apple Music subscriptions across student, individual, and family plans. Recently, new customers for AppleCare+ covering Macs and iPads have also seen price increases.
What has changed for Apple One subscribers?
The Apple One Family plan includes Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud+ storage, which can be shared with up to five family members. Previously, the Family and Premier bundles were priced at $25.95 and $37.95 per month, respectively.
The Premier plan offers the same services plus Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and 2TB of iCloud+ storage. Now, the charges stand at $27.95 for Family and $39.95 for Premier.
No new features, storage, or benefits have been added to either bundle. Family subscribers will now pay $335.40 annually, while the Premier plan will cost $479.40 per year.
Apple’s subscription fees continue to rise
Apple has not provided an explanation for the increased costs of the two Apple One bundles. The company attributed its recent rise in Apple Music prices to escalating licensing expenses, which is included in every Apple One plan. However, the unchanged Individual plan suggests that Apple Music may not be the sole reason for the latest price increase.
Additionally, Apple has recently raised AppleCare+ fees for new Mac and iPad customers by $0.50 monthly or $5 annually. These adjustments followed broader price increases across Apple’s Mac, iPad, Vision Pro, HomePod, and Apple TV offerings. Despite these hikes, Apple One still presents a cost-saving alternative compared to purchasing each service separately.
