HTC's smart glasses are reportedly set to arrive in the US, although the company has not officially confirmed this.
Amazon briefly listed the VIVE Eagle for a launch on September 1, although HTC maintains that the $499 smart glasses are currently only available in Taiwan.
HTC's VIVE Eagle smart glasses might soon be making their way to the US. It seems Amazon received the information before HTC was ready to announce it.
According to Notebookcheck, six versions were spotted for preorder at $499 each, with a release date set for September 1. However, Amazon has since removed the product pages, leaving those who ordered them uncertain about their status.
HTC has not officially confirmed a US launch. Their website continues to state that the VIVE Eagle is exclusive to Taiwan, making this a retailer leak with notably detailed listings.
What did Amazon disclose?
The supposed US lineup contained round and square frames with either clear or tinted lenses. There were four finishes available, including Glossy Black and Apricot, though the combinations differed.

This selection differs from the offerings in Taiwan, which include Berry and Grey among the options. It appears to be a lineup intended for another market rather than outdated information copied onto Amazon. The presence of individual product pages adds credibility to the leak, but there’s no assurance that each model will be available on launch day.
What does $499 provide?
The VIVE Eagle is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It features a 12MP ultrawide camera for capturing first-person photos and videos, along with open-ear speakers for music and calls.
It also includes a built-in voice assistant that can access Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT. Its most notable feature is camera-based translation, along with hands-free note-taking. HTC claims that users can enjoy up to 4.5 hours of continuous music playback, and a 10-minute charge can replenish half of the battery.

This package would be offered at $499 in the US, placing the VIVE Eagle $200 above the most affordable Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
When will HTC make an official announcement?
Amazon's early listing suggests a US release might be forthcoming, but it is not official confirmation. The September 1 date, $499 price, and specified configurations may still change prior to the sale.
For now, prospective buyers should consider September 1 as a tentative date. HTC also needs to clarify whether Amazon will fulfill orders made before the product pages were taken down. With the apparent release just under seven weeks away, an official announcement will be the next reliable milestone.
