Motorola's latest flagship killer offers the speed and magnetic charging that more expensive Android phones often lack.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max has officially launched in India for 54,999 Indian rupees (approximately $570) for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB RAM version with the same storage is priced at 59,999 rupees (around $625). Sales begin on July 20th.
Motorola has emphasized performance in this device, equipping the Edge 70 Max with Qualcomm’s 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, alongside LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The company claims it can achieve over 3.2 million points on AnTuTu, though independent tests will confirm this performance. To keep the processor cool, there is an ArcticMesh cooling system featuring a 5,500-square-millimeter vapor chamber, liquid metal, and nearly 30,000 square millimeters of overall cooling material, which can decrease peak CPU temperatures by as much as 7.1 degrees Celsius, according to Motorola.
The handset boasts a 6.8-inch flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 3168 x 1440, an adaptive refresh rate of 144Hz, and a peak brightness of 7,000 nits. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and holds IP66, IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H certifications for dust and water resistance, as well as durability against drops and more extreme conditions.
Motorola has also included a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery within an 8.29mm body, offering 90W wired charging and 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging, compatible with MagSafe accessories, which is a rare feature for non-Google flagship Android smartphones.
Regarding the camera system, the device includes a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 main camera with optical stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide lens for macro photography, but lacks a dedicated telephoto lens, while a 32MP sensor is on the front. This indicates that despite its name, the Edge 70 and Edge 70 Pro have superior camera setups.
Software support includes three significant Android updates and five years of security patches, which is less than Motorola's seven-year commitment for its more premium Signature series. Currently, the Edge 70 Max is only confirmed for the Indian market, but it could eventually be available alongside the Motorola Edge (2026).
