How to install the iOS 27 public beta on your iPhone?
The public beta of iOS 27 has arrived, featuring numerous new functionalities and experiences you might want to explore.
Following the release of iOS 27's third developer beta on July 6, Apple made the first public betas available on July 13, 2026. While the key features remain consistent across the different versions, the public beta is more polished and refined, free of basic bugs and issues.
If you own a compatible iPhone, you can install the first public beta of iOS 27 today and personally experience the new Siri AI and other enhancements, as long as you follow the proper steps.
To install it, begin by visiting beta.apple.com and enrolling in the free Apple Beta Software Program, which does not require any membership.
Next, on your iPhone, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update.
You will find a Beta Updates option, likely turned off. Enable it, and you should see iOS 27 Public Beta. If you are already part of the developer program, you will see the public beta available alongside the developer beta.
Select it, tap back, and your iPhone will notify you when the download is ready. If it does not appear immediately, try restarting your iPhone first. Once listed, you can download and install the public beta of iOS 27.
It’s important to note that this is still beta software, so it’s advisable to back up your iPhone beforehand and refrain from installing it on a device you cannot afford to have malfunction for a day or two.
So, what’s new once you install it?
To put it simply, the standout addition is Siri AI. Apple has upgraded its basic assistant into a conversational chatbot with its own app, capable of seeing what’s displayed on your screen and taking actions across various applications.
The Photos app now includes new AI editing tools for enhancing, extending, and reframing images, while Safari automatically organizes your tabs based on topics. You can create shortcuts using everyday language instead of a strict workflow system, and system features like AirDrop and opening new images in the Photos app are now up to 80% and 70% faster, respectively.

In other news, a $68 phone is bringing back the childhood experiences that millennials missed out on. Pinwheel has introduced a new product, Pinwheel Home, a retro-inspired household phone for children aged 5 to 10, allowing them to make actual voice calls without the distractions of social media, games, texts, or endless feeds.
If you’re a RAW photographer, Snapseed has just addressed one of your major concerns. Version 4.1 has expanded RAW format support on Android, with an iOS update coming soon.
Additionally, a concerning new version of the RedHook Android malware has emerged, which can spy on your screen, read your texts, and control your phone remotely without requiring root access. Researchers at Group-IB have discovered this upgraded variant, which significantly surpasses the version found in 2025, using one of Android's own built-in tools for control.
