The OASIS Smart ring conceals a trackpad that enables you to control your computer with whispers.
OASIS 1 combines private AI dictation with a compact trackpad integrated into the ring itself.
For many years, our interactions with computers have revolved around keyboards, mice, and touchscreens. OASIS believes it’s time for a change. The startup has introduced the OASIS 1, a smart ring created for private AI dictation, enabling users to whisper naturally while an embedded microphone transcribes their speech. And if the AI makes a mistake? There's a small trackpad built into the ring for corrections.
A microphone on your finger, a trackpad within the same ring.
OASIS classifies this gadget as a “first step beyond the keyboard.” Users can simply whisper into the ring, which utilizes WisprFlow’s AI-driven dictation technology to convert speech into text. Demonstrations illustrate someone quietly drafting a document without disturbing others around them, resulting in a more organic experience compared to traditional voice assistants that require verbal communication.
Today, we present OASIS 1. The smart ring designed for private dictation. Whisper to write. Touch to edit. A pioneering step away from keyboards toward a future where your intentions seamlessly transition across all devices. What’s truly innovative is how users proceed after dictating. Instead of reaching for a keyboard for edits, the ring is equipped with a capacitive trackpad featuring haptic feedback, enabling users to control the cursor, modify text, and navigate the interface with simple finger movements. According to OASIS, the hardware also includes a noise-isolating microphone, offers up to 16 hours of battery life, and is designed to work across various devices as users transition between them.
OASIS
The OASIS 1 is now available for pre-order at $289, with shipments from the first batch expected around Christmas 2026, though initial quantities will be limited.
The aim isn’t to establish voice control but to replace the keyboard.
Interestingly, OASIS clarifies that they don’t expect users to completely alter their working methods overnight. Instead, the company envisions the ring as a seamless link between current keyboard usage and a future where AI comprehends user intent across devices. This is why they combined voice dictation with a familiar pointing device rather than depending solely on speech.
OASIS
It’s an ambitious concept, though it may not appeal to everyone. Whispering into a ring in a busy office could still attract curious glances. However, if OASIS can make voice input feel as private and effortless as typing, it could pave the way for a future where keyboards are optional rather than necessary.

Xreal Aura glasses reservations are finally open, staying close to its $1,500 promise.
After one last teaser earlier this month, Xreal has launched reservations for its new Aura smart glasses. The company had pledged to keep the price under $1,500 for the upcoming AR devices, and they are now officially available for reservation at that price. The new Android XR-powered spatial computing glasses will be priced at $1,500 for the base model, not including tax. They are anticipated to be released in the fall of 2026. While this price is far from modest, it still undercuts the competition, including Snap's latest Specs priced just below $2,200.
