A network of X accounts is promoting AI nudify tools, causing significant distress for the victims.
Researchers indicate that coordinated X accounts are aiding AI nudify apps in bypassing moderation and expanding their user reach.
A network of X accounts is actively promoting AI nudify applications, allowing these potentially harmful tools to find alternative pathways to users as those affected struggle to address the consequences.
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Graphika's senior researcher Matthew Patane noted that some nudify services are advertised through synchronized social accounts that utilize similar language. One such network consisted of 45,000 X accounts, with their posts employing indirect language and altered visuals to evade moderation.
This revelation increases the scrutiny on X and websites like Undress AI, a Belize-based platform that promotes explicit image tools and offers paid video creation. Neither Undress AI nor X responded to requests for comments.
Promotions for these apps are easily accessible. By using random keywords, we discovered promotional posts like the one below:

How do the posts disseminate
The accounts identified by Patane did not employ direct descriptions. Instead, they used casual language and softened references to guide users towards nudify tools without explicitly detailing every feature.
Moreover, Undress AI is also venturing beyond still images. Its website hints at a $59 video creation option and allows users to select sexualized poses, including undressing and riding. Additionally, it provides credits to users who refer friends.
This combination presents the service with two avenues for growth. Coded posts can direct users' attention to the site, while referral credits incentivize users to recruit more individuals.
Who is affected by the spread of these tools
Victims often find themselves dealing with the repercussions after an image has already spread. Reported incidents detail fabricated nude images circulating through platforms like Snapchat, school corridors, and peer networks, with families attempting to remove them and urging schools or law enforcement to intervene.
One student in Iowa, targeted by a group of boys, reported that images created with Undress AI were shared among classmates. She eventually transitioned to online classes.
The X network amplifies this risk. A single uploaded image can quickly become a form of social punishment, particularly as promotions direct more users toward tools designed for sexualized image alteration.
What should platforms address now
X broadly prohibits deceptive activities; however, coordinated nudify promotion poses a more challenging enforcement issue. The posts can circumvent obvious keywords while still leading users to tools intended for explicit manipulation.
The next indicator to observe is whether platforms can identify these campaigns before they expand. It is advisable to secure personal images wherever feasible, report impersonation swiftly, and retain evidence before posts are removed.

YouTube is facing challenges presented by AI moderation that are affecting legitimate faceless creators.
YouTube is grappling with an issue surrounding AI moderation, and its efforts to enforce rules are inadvertently impacting legitimate creators. Faceless channels, which feature no human host on screen, have been part of the platform for years and are not necessarily AI-generated. Many are managed by individual creators who choose to remain anonymous. The complication arises from AI tools that have allowed an influx of low-effort faceless content to saturate the platform, leading YouTube's algorithm to penalize this format across the board.
A new Mac app is designed to ensure you drink water regularly.
A new Mac application aims to address the problem of missed hydration reminders by making them harder to ignore. Other apps, like Loook, take a soft approach, encouraging hydration alongside reminders for posture and eye breaks. In contrast, Hydration Hostage, developed by a solo programmer, occupies your screen in your menu bar and blocks access on a set schedule, only allowing it to unlock after your camera confirms that you've taken a drink of water.
