Nvidia partner Bizlink has acquired Interplex ICT for $850 million.
Bizlink Holding, a Taiwanese producer of cables, connectors, and power distribution systems, has finalized an agreement to acquire the information and communications technology (ICT) division of Blackstone's Interplex for $850 million in cash. This transaction also includes a potential $50 million earnout and is anticipated to conclude in the latter half of 2026, according to CEO Felix Teng during a briefing in Taipei on Wednesday.
As a partner of Nvidia, Bizlink provides interconnect solutions for data centers, servers, and AI hardware. This acquisition grants Bizlink access to Interplex Datacom's clientele in areas such as networking enclosures, servers, disk drives, wearables, and mobile devices.
The Blackstone Calculus
In 2022, Blackstone purchased the entire Interplex from Baring Private Equity Asia for $1.6 billion. By selling just the ICT division for $850 million, plus a possible $50 million earnout, Blackstone is recovering over half of its initial investment from a single segment.
Bloomberg reported in January that Blackstone was considering selling the ICT unit at a valuation exceeding $1 billion. The final sale price of $850 million reflects approximately a 15% discount from that initial asking price.
Importance for AI Infrastructure
Interplex Datacom manufactures custom interconnect and mechanical components for high-performance servers and switches utilized in data centers. As U.S. cloud providers are projected to spend around $650 billion on AI-related infrastructure in 2026, companies producing the physical connectors, enclosures, and power systems for these facilities are experiencing increased demand.
Bizlink's current product offerings include drone interconnects, automotive power distribution, and medical imaging systems. Incorporating Interplex's server and networking components enhances its position in the data center supply chain, a sector that is growing rapidly.
Bizlink's Progress
Bizlink reported approximately $2.28 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue and a 41% year-on-year increase in net income for the first quarter of 2026. The company's shares have risen by 42% this year, resulting in a market capitalization of about $13.3 billion.
The $850 million acquisition is substantial for Bizlink, representing over a third of its annual revenue. The company has expanded through both organic growth and acquisitions, including a recent purchase of XFS Communications to broaden its optical interconnect business.
What Interplex Retains
Blackstone is divesting solely the ICT division while the remaining part of Interplex, now renamed Ennovi, concentrates on precision components for electric vehicles, autonomous driving, medical and life sciences, and cloud computing.
Ennovi has been established as a distinct mobility electrification brand and continues to cater to customers in the EV and automotive sectors. Blackstone retains this segment, which operates in a different market than the server and networking hardware that Bizlink is acquiring.
The Details
The $850 million price is below the $1 billion-plus valuation that Blackstone initially pursued in January. It remains uncertain from public reports whether this discount is due to weaker interest, results from negotiations, or a reevaluation of the unit’s standalone value.
Bizlink has not revealed expected revenue or margin contributions from the Interplex ICT unit. The $50 million earnout arrangement indicates that part of the deal's value depends on meeting future performance targets, suggesting some uncertainty regarding the unit's near-term prospects.
An $850 million cash acquisition for a company with trailing revenue of $2.28 billion represents a significant gamble. Bizlink has not disclosed how it will finance this transaction, whether through cash reserves, debt, or equity. Additionally, integration risk is a consideration, as Interplex Datacom is based in Singapore while Bizlink's headquarters are located in Taiwan.
