Marshall’s latest Stockwell III addresses an issue that many Bluetooth speakers overlook.

      Marshall

For years, Bluetooth speakers have adhered to a familiar template: improved sound quality, extended battery life, a hint of water resistance, and then it’s on to the next generation. Marshall's latest Stockwell III certainly fulfills these criteria, but its most notable upgrade isn’t centered around audio performance. Instead, it focuses on longevity.

The Stockwell III marks Marshall’s first update to its portable speaker line since 2019, maintaining the same rugged design complete with the signature carrying strap and retro-style appearance. At first glance, it may seem like a typical refresh. However, underneath, Marshall is making a significant yet understated shift towards enhanced repairability.

The battery's life doesn’t conclude the story anymore.

This speaker features a replaceable battery, which is a rarity in today’s portable audio devices. While most Bluetooth speakers start counting down to their obsolescence upon purchase, the Stockwell III provides a means to prolong its lifecycle as the battery naturally deteriorates.

Anyone who has owned a portable speaker over the years realizes that battery degradation is often why a fully functional device gets shoved into a drawer. By introducing a replaceable battery, Marshall is tackling one of the most significant shortcomings of portable electronics.

The company has also enhanced battery life, extending the Stockwell III’s playback duration from 20 hours to over 40 hours. This translates to fewer charging cycles in the long run, theoretically leading to a more durable product.

Marshall is not stopping at the battery alone. Users can interchange the carrying strap, the front and rear grilles, and even the protective outer sleeve. This design philosophy becomes increasingly pertinent as consumers grow more aware of electronic waste and the rising expenses associated with replacing devices every few years.

      A speaker that matures gracefully.

This repair-friendly mindset also adds an advantage: resale value. A frayed strap, scratched surface, or aging battery can diminish the appearance of even high-end speakers. The ability to replace these parts could help maintain the Stockwell III’s appearance and functionality closer to that of a new item long after purchase.

Beyond durability, Marshall has introduced several practical enhancements. The speaker now also functions as a USB-C power bank for charging other devices, and its durability has been boosted with an IP55 rating, providing better resistance to dust and water damage. The brass control panel has been updated to include a customizable sound-profile button along with dedicated media controls.

The Stockwell III is still designed as a portable speaker; it simply aims to endure much longer than the majority of its competitors.

A guide to Sony’s 2026 TVs and home theater lineup

Sony’s latest BRAVIA collection unveils True RGB technology alongside new TVs and home theater audio offerings.

Sony believes they may have discovered the key to home theater this year. The company isn’t merely releasing new televisions; instead, it is reimagining how TVs produce color through a technology called True RGB, while also expanding its home theater product range with items such as the BRAVIA Theater Trio. After previewing the lineup in New York, it became evident why Sony feels True RGB could be a standout feature in its 2026 offerings.

This technology was central to Sony's presentation, but the overarching message was equally noteworthy. The company indicated that many high-end TVs are still optimized for ideal viewing circumstances rather than the typical environments in which most people watch television. Sony presented data suggesting that only about 13% of viewers enjoy content in settings similar to that of a cinema or professional grading suite. The other 87% are watching in brightly lit living rooms, open floor plans, and places where lighting conditions fluctuate throughout the day.

Sony’s new 135-inch display is basically boardroom excess at its finest.

Sony Electronics is making a substantial leap in upgrading the ordinary meeting room screen. The newly unveiled Crystal LED UNIFY is a colossal 135-inch all-in-one direct-view LED display tailored for boardrooms, meeting spaces, community areas, and educational institutions.

At first glance, it may resemble Sony's next major flagship television for living rooms, but it is advanced display technology making its way into the office environment. It belongs to Sony’s professional display range and complements its existing BRAVIA Professional Displays and Crystal LED series. The model number is ZRL-135SG, and Sony is marketing it as an easier option for organizations to incorporate a large dvLED display without the usual complications associated with custom LED wall projects.
