Dell's Alienware unveils the first-ever 39-inch 5K OLED monitor featuring RGB screen technology.

Alienware is celebrating its 30th anniversary and marks the occasion with an exceptional gaming monitor that stands out as the most remarkable we've seen in years.

At Computex, Alienware unveiled four new gaming monitors, with the centerpiece being the world's first 39-inch 5K OLED gaming monitor featuring RGB stripe technology. Based on its specifications, this may be the most impressive display Alienware has ever produced.

What makes the new 39-inch OLED monitor unique?

If you’ve used an OLED monitor before, you understand its visual appeal. However, the typical drawback of OLED displays has been their lower peak brightness, which poses challenges in brighter settings. Alienware addresses this issue with its RGB stripe tandem OLED technology, layering separate red, green, and blue components to enhance peak brightness up to 1,300 nits, all while maintaining the color accuracy and deep blacks that make OLED desirable.

The monitor also features a dual-mode design, allowing users to switch seamlessly between 5K at 165Hz for expansive games and 1080p at 330Hz for competitive gaming without needing to restart. It boasts a 39-inch 1500R curved screen, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, Dolby Vision, and comes equipped with a built-in KVM switch, perfect for those managing multiple devices.

Concerns about burn-in with OLED technology are valid, so it’s reassuring to see that Alienware has included intelligent pixel management technology to mitigate degradation, along with a three-year burn-in warranty. While pricing details haven’t yet been released, the monitor is set to launch in select Asian markets in late June, with availability in North America and Europe planned for this fall.

What about the rest of the lineup?

Alienware has also updated its popular 34-inch QD-OLED ultrawide, increasing the refresh rate from 240Hz to 280Hz, boosting peak brightness from 1,000 to 1,300 nits, and introducing a new anti-reflective coating that reduces glare by 30%. This model will be available globally in July.

For gamers looking for a budget-friendly upgrade, there are two new 240Hz curved LCD monitors. The 34-inch version will retail for $399.99, while the 32-inch model is priced at $299.99, both set to be released globally in July 2026.

In the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build, Microsoft has enhanced the Windows Search function to recognize partial terms throughout compound file names, not just at the beginning. This update is a practical enhancement that leaves many wondering why it took so long to implement.
