Rivian will begin delivering the electric R2 on June 9th, but you'll first need to obtain an invitation.
The wait is nearly over. Here’s everything you should know before your invite arrives.
After a lengthy wait, Rivian R2 reservation holders are finally receiving a definite date to mark on their calendars. Rivian announced that order invitations will be sent out starting June 9, with the initial R2 electric vehicles being delivered to customers shortly thereafter. If you have a reservation, here are the essential details you need before you receive that email.
How does the invitation process operate?
Invitations will be sent in groups, and two primary factors will influence when yours will arrive: your reservation timestamp and your delivery location. Reservations located close to a Rivian Service and Demo Center will typically receive invitations sooner, as this helps Rivian manage deliveries more effectively in the initial weeks.
Several other circumstances can expedite your position in the queue. Current Rivian owners will enjoy faster delivery. If your lease is nearing expiration, you can input that information into your Rivian Account, and the company will take it into account. Rivian leaseholders are already included and do not need to do anything further.
The first trim available is the R2 Performance with the Launch Package, which features the Autonomy+ driving system. The R2 Premium will follow in late 2026, with the Standard trim becoming available in 2027. If you are waiting for a specific version, Rivian will inform you when it is ready for ordering. After confirming your order, delivery should occur within two to six weeks.
How will I know when my invitation arrives?
The invitation will be sent via email, so ensure that your Rivian Account information is up to date and that the email does not get caught in your spam folder. Keep an eye on your inbox starting June 9.
It's important to note that your pricing and configuration are not finalized until you place your order and obtain a confirmation. There isn't a strict deadline to respond to your invitation, but trims, options, and pricing may change based on availability, so don’t delay too long.

Samsung’s OLED technology gives the Ferrari Luce a dashboard that is unique compared to anything seen in cars before.
Samsung Display has put its finest display technology not into a phone, but into a Ferrari. Ferrari has debuted the Luce, its first all-electric vehicle, which has evoked mixed reactions regarding its design. Created by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, the car certainly grabs attention, though not always for the right reasons. Nevertheless, while the outside design may be contentious, very few can argue that the car's interior is like nothing seen before. One striking aspect is its futuristic display aesthetic.
Ferrari’s first electric vehicle is here, and the Luce may be the brand’s most divisive car yet.
Ferrari has officially entered the electric vehicle era with the launch of the all-new Ferrari Luce, the company's first fully electric production car. Introduced in Rome, the Luce signifies one of the most significant transitions for the Maranello-based manufacturer since its inception in 1939.
For many years, Ferrari hesitated to transition fully to electric power. The company consistently maintained that emotion, sound, and driver engagement were central to the Ferrari experience, elements enthusiasts believed could only be achieved with a combustion engine. Even while competitors like Porsche released electric models such as the Porsche Taycan and Lamborghini explored electrification strategies, Ferrari primarily focused on hybrids and traditional performance vehicles.
