Airbnb will now offer the option to order groceries ahead of time and also allow stays in hotels.
Airbnb began as a platform to find spare bedrooms, but after twelve years, it aims to become the ultimate travel app you require.
With the announcement of the 2026 Summer Release update today, users can now not only book accommodations but also order groceries, arrange airport pickups, rent cars, book boutique hotels, utilize AI planning tools, and access FIFA World Cup experiences, all within the Airbnb app.

What new services are available for booking on Airbnb now?
Airbnb has introduced two new services today. The first is airport pickups (through Welcome Pickups), which allows you to arrange a ride from airports in over 160 cities worldwide, offering a 20% discount on all bookings.
The second service is luggage storage (via Bounce), now available as well, providing you with 15% off at more than 15,000 locations across 175 cities for the period before check-in and after check-out.
Additionally, one of the major updates is grocery delivery (via Instacart), which is now active, enabling you to receive food at your rental location before your arrival or at any time during your stay, with no delivery fee and a $10 discount on orders of $50 or more in nearly 30 U.S. cities.
In fact, hosts can even stock the home with groceries before your check-in, which might influence their reviews later on.

Can you reserve hotels using the Airbnb app?
Car rentals are also expected to be available later this summer. The app will suggest vehicles based on your group size, and first-time users will receive a 20% credit toward a future Airbnb stay.
In a surprising development, the platform has begun accepting reservations for boutique and independent hotels in 20 cities, including New York, Paris, London, Rome, Singapore, and Madrid, among others.
The company is carefully selecting properties that fit the local area, and they offer a price match guarantee along with up to 15% credit toward a future home booking. While Booking.com has mixed hotels and rentals for a decade, it's encouraging to see Airbnb catching up.
Regarding the FIFA World Cup 2026, Airbnb, as an official Tournament Supporter, is providing exclusive experiences in six host cities, which include a watch party with Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy and pitch training with Javier Mascherano.
