Krafted Edge addresses a major frustration with laptop power banks: their lack of compatibility with available space, compounded by exaggerated battery life promises.

I’ve encountered various power banks—bulky rectangular blocks, round disc shapes, and slim models that awkwardly fit alongside laptops in bags—but none have resembled this one.

The Krafted Edge is a 20,000 mAh power bank integrated into an aluminum slab measuring 27 x 19 x 1.28 cm, which is nearly identical to the size of a closed laptop, and this design is intentional.

What sets the Krafted Edge 20,000 mAh power bank apart?

You can slide the power bank beneath your notebook while working, connect it via USB-C, and it will charge your laptop while lying flat underneath it. Additionally, it fits seamlessly in a slim laptop bag without occupying extra room, given its laptop-like shape.

This power bank features two USB-C ports, each delivering up to 65W, in addition to a slower 18W USB-A port. Recharging the device takes roughly two hours with a 45W input.

Regarding the 20,000 mAh capacity, it consists of four user-replaceable 5,000 mAh cells. Therefore, when the batteries wear out after several years, you can replace the cells rather than discarding the whole unit, which gives it an advantage in terms of repairability against many competitors.

However, the claims made about the power bank seem too optimistic.

Krafted asserts that it can provide three to four full laptop charges, but I have doubts about this. Even with a nominal voltage of 3.6V or 3.7V, the power bank should have around 72Wh or 74Wh, which likely isn’t sufficient to charge four laptops completely.

In reality, the power bank has just enough capacity to charge a 14-inch MacBook Pro once, while a more affordable MacBook Neo might achieve two charges, assuming the power bank operates at full efficiency.

Similarly, the assertion of delivering four complete smartphone charges may only hold for devices with smaller batteries, like the iPhone 17e, and certainly not larger smartphones like the OnePlus 15R. While Krafted has excelled in design, their marketing could benefit from a more realistic representation of capabilities.

Currently, the Krafted Edge is available for pre-order on Kickstarter at $139, with anticipated delivery in July 2026. It has already secured $45,701 from 295 backers. Although Krafted is a well-established accessories brand and the power bank’s design is innovative, the battery life claims need improvement, which is essential for the brand to address before the product launch.
