Meta's Ray-Ban Display can now compose messages based on your finger gestures.

Neural Handwriting is an impressive feature, but Meta's decision to open the Ray-Ban Display to developers signals a significant transformation from a clever wearable device to a platform with vast potential.

At six months old, the Meta Ray-Ban Display is beginning to feel less experimental, mainly due to what can be seen as the most important update Meta has introduced for the device.

The standout feature is Neural Handwriting, which is now accessible to all Ray-Ban Display users after initially being available only to Messenger and WhatsApp users in its early stages.

      What is Neural Handwriting?

For those unaware, this feature utilizes the Neural Band, a sEMG wristband that comes with the $799 glasses, to detect subtle finger movements and convert them into typed text within an app.

To utilize the feature, wear the Ray-Ban Display and the Neural Band on your wrist, then gesture with your fingers as if writing a letter. The glasses translate your finger movements (in mid-air) into a message on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or your phone’s native messaging app.

This feature works on both Android and iOS platforms. While it introduces a new application for the Ray-Ban Meta Display, generating considerable attention, it also marks the first time that the device is open to third-party web app developers.

What other updates has Meta introduced?

This suggests that Meta is positioning the glasses as a platform rather than merely a consumer product.

This could allow developers to create AI assistants, productivity tools, navigation overlays, accessibility enhancements, and gesture-based experiences that expand the device’s functionality beyond messaging and media capture.

In addition to these updates, Meta has also introduced Display Recording for the glasses, a mode that records the lens display output, camera video, and surrounding audio into a single video file.

Walking directions now cover the entire United States, as well as prominent international cities like London, Paris, and Rome. The live captions feature is extending to WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram voice messages. Additionally, Muse Spark AI is expected to be available on the glasses this summer.

Microsoft is finally addressing the most frustrating aspect of Windows 11.

For many Windows users, the taskbar in Windows 11 has often seemed too restrictive. Microsoft revamped the interface with a sleeker and more modern aesthetic, but in doing so, it removed several customization options that users had relied on for years. One of the primary grievances? The lack of freedom to move the taskbar around the screen as desired. Now, it appears Microsoft is ready to change that.

The company has begun testing a significant redesign of the taskbar and Start menu for Windows 11 Insiders in its Experimental channel. This feels like an acknowledgment from Microsoft that users desire a more personalized experience with their PCs.

Asus has launched an impressive gaming mini PC, but the price will make you think twice.

This compact gaming powerhouse can cost more than many complete desktop setups.

Asus has introduced the 2026 ROG NUC 16, a small gaming PC designed for those seeking a powerful setup without the need for a full desktop tower. It can be positioned vertically or horizontally on a desk, and there's a Moonlight White variant for buyers desiring a cleaner aesthetic. However, the price is a significant drawback.

In China, the updated ROG NUC 16 starts at CNY 29,999, roughly $4,405. The white variant retails for CNY 31,999, or around $4,699. Asus has yet to confirm global pricing or availability, but international prices are likely to fall within a similar range, or possibly higher.

This is the most impressive laptop power bank I have encountered, and I would wait to see if it actually ships.

Krafted Edge addresses the most frustrating aspect of laptop power banks: their awkward fit, while also making exaggerated claims about battery life that often don't hold up.

I have come across various power banks, from bulky rectangular bricks to round pucks and flat designs that take up awkward space alongside a laptop in a bag, yet none have ever matched the appearance of this one.

The Krafted Edge is a 20,000 mAh power bank built into an aluminum slab that measures 27 x 19 x 1.28 cm, closely matching the dimensions of a closed laptop, and that’s intentional.
