      The Norwegian-American robotics company 1X Technologies has provided a look into scaled humanoid robot production, which appears to be cyclical. In a newly released demo, its Neo robot assists humans on the factory floor, helping to manufacture more Neo units as the company transitions to large-scale production.

      Robots contributing to robot manufacturing

      The demo features 1X’s Neo humanoid robot, a bipedal machine primarily designed for home use, now entering initial manufacturing workflows. The video depicts Neo executing repetitive, supportive tasks alongside human employees, effectively integrating into the assembly process.

      The setup illustrates 1X’s production strategy at its Neo Factory, where robots work closely with humans. The company has highlighted a vertically integrated approach that includes designing and producing essential components in-house, such as motors, batteries, sensors, and structural elements.

      This comprehensive control enables 1X to swiftly iterate on both hardware and manufacturing practices while ramping up production as demand increases.
