Claude recently acquired a scam detector that might help you avoid an expensive error.
Claude is now adept at distinguishing scams from genuine content, even when you can’t.
Thanks to the content generation abilities of AI, identifying scams has become increasingly challenging. Research from Malwarebytes reveals that 66% of individuals find it difficult to differentiate between a scam and authentic content. The sophistication of AI-generated scams is such that even those with technical expertise are sometimes caught off guard.
This issue worsens as more people lean on AI for answers to various questions. Individuals are increasingly using AI-powered tools like Claude for everyday inquiries, from outfit suggestions for events to dining options while traveling. It won't be long before these users seek advice on how to maintain online safety from their AI assistants.
At present, there are only a few tools available to alert users about suspicious or scam-related content in AI. Malwarebytes aims to address this gap by integrating its threat intelligence directly into Claude, facilitating easy checks on questionable content within the conversation.
How does it function?
By connecting Malwarebytes to Claude, users can paste any suspicious link, phone number, or email address and request Claude to verify it. The response will fall into one of four categories: safe, malicious, suspicious, or unknown. Each category also includes advice on the next steps to take.
Here’s what you can verify:
- Links: Insert a URL from a text or email to see if it’s safe to click.
- Phone numbers: Determine whether an unfamiliar number is linked to scams.
- Email addresses: Check if a sender’s domain is tied to phishing attempts.
- WHOIS lookup: Ask Claude for domain registration information to ascertain a website’s legitimacy.
How to set it up?
You can connect Malwarebytes just like you would with any other Claude connector. Open Claude, navigate to Customize → Connectors. Click the plus button, search for Malwarebytes, and select Connect. The great part is that you don’t need a Malwarebytes account.

Dell 34 Plus USB-C monitor review: An ultrawide beauty with delightful surprises.
Dell's curved monitor combines practical minimalism with some impressive features.
Summary:
I've grown skeptical of any monitor labeled a “productivity display.” They're not necessarily bad, but they're often underwhelming in terms of modern standards. Many have bulky black bezels and a dull grey corporate appearance that feels outdated—more suited for a 2014 cubicle. I’ve never wanted any of them on my desk. So when I unpacked the Dell 34 Plus USB-C monitor (model S3425DW), I was prepared for the typical letdown, but instead, I was pleasantly surprised.
