This stylish electric sedan is priced at less than $32,900 and surpasses Tesla with a range exceeding 770 miles.
Avatr's stylish 06T sedan EV has just been released, showcasing impressive range capabilities.
Avatr has unveiled the 06T in China, and the figures immediately catch your attention. This elegant electric sedan starts at ¥219,900, roughly $32,000, and comes equipped with unexpectedly high-end specifications. For that price, customers receive a vehicle featuring Huawei technology, a luxurious interior, and an impressive range claim that exceeds 700 miles in its range-extender configuration.
Why this figure matters
According to Avatr’s official global website, the 06T is available with two power configurations. The pure EV variant utilizes an 89.33kWh CATL 5C battery and is rated for up to 741 km CLTC, while the range-extender variant employs a 46.65kWh battery, providing a pure electric range of 330 km CLTC or a combined range of up to 1,250 km CLTC, which converts to approximately 776.7 miles.
This puts it well ahead of Tesla’s range figures. The Tesla Model Y’s rear-wheel-drive version is listed at 593 km CLTC, and recent Tesla Model 3 results from China show the base model at 634 km CLTC. Even the longer-range Tesla figures mentioned in recent Chinese reports remain significantly below Avatr’s combined 1,250 km figure.

It also boasts an upscale appearance
The 06T justifies its impressive specs with a robust feature list. Avatr includes a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display, a 15.6-inch center touchscreen, dual 6.7-inch rearview monitors, front dual zero-gravity seating, a 25-speaker Meridian sound system, Huawei Qiankun ADS 4, an 896-line LiDAR system, and 4D millimeter-wave radar. The sedan measures 4,940mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,940mm, contributing to its elongated, low-profile design.
Indeed, the 06T’s aesthetics are striking, but the standout elements are its range and competitive pricing.

Autonomous vehicles were expected to liberate us from traffic congestion, but research suggests otherwise.
The dream of self-driving cars may become a traffic nightmare instead.
Autonomous vehicles promised a future where passengers could sit back and relax as the car navigates through traffic; however, a new study from the University of Texas at Arlington reveals some troubling insights. The research indicates that widespread adoption of self-driving vehicles could actually worsen traffic conditions. Professors Stephen Mattingly and Farah Naz conducted a meta-analysis examining the potential impact of autonomous cars on vehicle miles traveled (VMT). Their findings indicated an average increase of 5.95% in vehicle miles traveled, with non-shared autonomous vehicles pushing that figure even higher, almost reaching 7%.
