You might find it hard to believe, but Motorola really produces an impressive laptop that grabs attention.

Motorola is not a brand I typically associate with high-quality laptops. A stylish phone? Definitely. A unique foldable device? Absolutely. But a lightweight notebook that balances design and value is genuinely unexpected. Nevertheless, the Moto Book 60 Pro stands out as one of the more impressive models in its category.

In a chaotic laptop market, Motorola’s offerings feel refreshing. It is capable, appealing, and remains competitively priced at a time when others are becoming increasingly expensive.

The design still evokes the reaction of “Wait, Motorola made this?”

The first thing the Moto Book 60 Pro nails is its immediate visual appeal. It looks fantastic—very sleek. Motorola has opted for a clean, light formula with a full-metal exterior, a slim chassis weighing just 1.39 kg, and Pantone-approved finishes like Wedgewood and Bronze Green. I used the latter and found that it genuinely had people confused about the brand. Revealing it was Motorola often resulted in surprise.

This is a true thin-and-light notebook with a build quality that feels both luxurious and portable. At first glance, it could easily be mistaken for a Windows alternative to the MacBook Neo. The only downside is that the Moto Book 60 Pro isn’t a brand-new model; it actually launched in India back in September 2025.

The OLED display is the standout feature here

Another aspect that makes the Moto Book 60 Pro appealing is its screen. Equipped with a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and peak brightness of up to 1100 nits, it offers impressive value for a machine starting around $680 at some retailers—particularly in a year where laptop prices have soared.

And yes, it performs exceptionally well in practice. Colors are vibrant, contrast is outstanding, scrolling feels fluid, and the added brightness brings the panel to life instead of simply being “good for the price.” This display significantly enhances the laptop's overall experience, making movies more enjoyable, web browsing richer, and the device itself feel more premium each time you open it.

The value of the Moto Book 60 Pro is hard to overlook

This is where the laptop transitions from being a pleasant surprise to a strong endorsement. Motorola introduced the base Moto Book 60 Pro with an Intel Core Ultra 5 225H, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. Meanwhile, the higher-end Core Ultra 7 255H model, which features 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced just below $900.

The remaining specifications are solid as well. This model includes a 60Wh battery, 65W USB-C charging, a 1080p IR webcam, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 7, and a commendable selection of ports.

While these processors may not be the latest from Intel, the Series 2 chips still offer capable performance, satisfactory efficiency, and overall reliability, even in 2026. This is especially true when compared to trends in the broader market. Premium thin-and-light laptops featuring similarly impressive displays and modern Intel or ARM processors are often priced much higher now, particularly with memory costs rising.

The limitation, of course, is availability. Like the previous Moto Book 60, this model is currently exclusive to India, which restricts its global impact.

Lenovo’s influence is also apparent, which isn’t a criticism, rather a point of reference. Motorola isn’t reinventing the laptop; rather, it’s taking an effective design framework and enhancing it with improved styling, an excellent screen, and greater value, which honestly feels sufficient. The Moto Book 60 Pro may not be revolutionary, but it is solid, attractive, and reasonably priced. By 2026, this is a product that should have been made available in other regions.
