The next iteration of Motorola’s Razr foldables now has a launch date. On April 20, 2026, Motorola shared a 12-second teaser video on the social media platform X.
This teaser reveals that the Razr 2026 series will be officially launched on April 29, 2026, with public sales anticipated to begin on May 21, 2026, in the United States.
What did the teaser reveal?
The brief clip showcased close-up views of what seem to be new colors for the Razr series, with the most notable being a purple quilted finish (visible on at least two devices). Additionally, there were glimpses of a black fabric back option and a green variant, both of which are reminiscent of the Razr line.
Since the teaser was posted on the global account, some of these colors may not be available in the U.S. This speculation arises from the fact that shortly after the teaser was released, the company shared another video excluding those devices.
What about pricing?
While the confirmation of the Razr (2026) foldable in the U.S. is positive news on its own, the anticipated prices might be viewed negatively. Rumors indicate that the base Razr and Razr Plus could see price increases of as much as $100 compared to last year, while the Razr Ultra might experience a $200 hike.
Thus, this year, the starting price for the most affordable option, the Razr (2026), may be around $799. On a more positive note, the Razr Ultra 2026 is expected to come equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, which represents a 300 mAh improvement over the last model.
Motorola’s choice to raise prices across its foldable line, despite the phones' premium textures and new colors, suggests that foldables buyers have adapted to the initial shock of high price tags.
Nonetheless, it remains uncertain whether the market will embrace mid-tier specifications (particularly for the entry-level model) along with a $100 price increase.
