Intel's concealed handheld processors could potentially challenge AMD's position in the market.
Two Intel chips designed for handheld gaming have just leaked online, and the situation is heating up.
Intel has been subtly developing something intriguing. A recent leak has unveiled two yet-to-be-announced chips, the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme, specifically intended for handheld gaming consoles. These chips are anticipated to launch sometime in Q2 2026, potentially transforming the handheld gaming industry significantly.
Following Intel's announcement of its complete Panther Lake lineup, rumors began circulating about two chips that were not included. Initially, they were created to rival AMD’s Ryzen Z2 series, but their release has been postponed for undisclosed reasons. Now, one of them has reemerged online.
A leaker on X, known as HXL, shared a CPU-Z screenshot that seemingly displays one of these chips. It reportedly features 14 CPU cores and has a boost clock of 4.7 GHz with a 25W TDP.
But is this leak authentic?
Skepticism exists. Jaykihn, a well-known Intel insider with a reliable history, claims the listing is fraudulent. He states that the genuine Arc G3 Extreme has a boost clock of 4.7 GHz and 12 MB of L3 cache, while the leaked entry shows 18 MB, which he asserts belongs to a fabricated chip.
Fake. 4.8GHz and 18MB L3 is incorrect. It appears to be a spoofed 358H. G3 Extreme should be 4.7GHz, 12MB L3. Additionally, the product name is Intel Arc G3 Extreme, not Intel Core G3 Extreme. https://t.co/MZrF963qzW— Jaykihn (@jaykihn0) April 20, 2026
He also mentioned that the chipset should be named Intel Arc G3 Extreme, not Intel Core G3 Extreme as indicated in the leaked image. However, Jaykihn does not dispute the existence of such a chip.
What sets Arc G3 apart from Arc G3 Extreme?
As reported by Notebookcheck, the main distinction between the two chips is found in their graphics. The Arc G3 Extreme is said to feature an Arc B380 GPU with 12 Xe cores, whereas the standard Arc G3 comes with an Arc B360 and 10 Xe cores.

This new add-on does more than just add buttons; it could simplify charging and cooling during extended phone gaming sessions.
OnePlus’ latest controller for the Ace 6 Ultra appears to be another attempt to convert a phone into a handheld, but the more innovative aspect is the open space in the center. According to OnePlus, this area is designed for cooling, and the company’s promotional images indicate that this isn’t merely a grip with triggers attached. It’s a design that accommodates heat management and more convenient power options simultaneously.
OnePlus continues to emphasize gaming features, including four physical buttons, a hybrid of touch-and-button controls, micro-switch inputs, a 1 kHz polling rate, and a claimed 1.8 ms response time. However, comfort during prolonged use is the more persuasive argument, especially for shooters that can be uncomfortable in awkward hand positions and when using a hot phone.
